Located just 400 meters from Château Royal d’Amboise, it is connected by an underground passageway. Built by Hugues d’Amboise in 1471, the palace once belonged to French King Charles VIII and later to Leonardo da Vinci, who lived there at the invitation of Francis I from 1516 until his death on May 2, 1519. Today, it is a museum dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci’s life, work, and memory. Clos Luce is one of the top 100 extraordinary destinations to explore in 2021 by Time magazine. Chateau De Chaumont Sur Loire - 11:30 - 13:00 Arrival at Château de Chaumont. Founded in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 15th century by Charles I d’Amboise, the castle has been protected as a monument historique since 1840 and is now open to the public. In 1559, Catherine de Medici forced Diane de Poitiers to accept Château de Chaumont in exchange for Château de Chenonceau. Joan of Arc also visited in 1429 to be blessed by the Archbishop of Reims before departing with her army to battle the English. The castle comprises several buildings of four different architectural styles, with 564 rooms, including 100 bedrooms with a fireplace in each, and 75 staircases. 16:30 Departure to Mont Saint-Michel, which takes about 3.5 hours to drive.

Normandy American Cemetery - 15:30 - 16:45 Arrival and visit the Normandy American Cemetery & Visitor Center in Colleville-sur-Mer, overlooking Omaha Beach. It contains 9,387 U.S. soldiers, most of whom were killed during the Normandy Landings, and the Wall of the Missing with the names of 1,557 soldiers missing in action. The cliffs leading down to the beaches contain remnants of the German defenses, including concrete casemates with memorials to the soldiers. At Normandy American Cemetery, you’ll also see the semicircular memorial colonnade with the sculpture “Spirit of American Youth Rising from the Waves” and large maps of military operations. It is considered one of the most beautiful, idyllic spots on Earth. Free time to walk around the gardens. 16:45 Departure to the nearby Overlord Museum.

Located just a few hundred meters from the Normandy American Cemetery, this museum contains many WWII artifacts and installations, including tanks, weapons, guns, military vehicles, a V-1 missile, personal belongings, and more.
