- Musée du Débarquement Utah Beach - Join an expert guide in Paris aboard a comfortable, private coach. On the journey to Normandy, learn about the Allied preparations for D-Day, the largest amphibious assault in history. The guide, fluent in English, will accompany the group throughout the tour, sharing the operation’s story and answering questions from history enthusiasts and curious visitors.
At Utah Beach, the first stop, the Allies swiftly overcame the German forces. Visit an exceptional D-Day museum located in an old German bunker on the landing beach itself. The collection highlights both the scale and personal sacrifices of the operation, featuring an original B-26 airplane and collections of soldiers’ letters home.
- Utah Beach - Explore Utah Beach, where the Allies landed on the morning of June 6, 1944.
- Office de Tourisme intercommunal de Grandcamp-Maisy - Next, immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of Normandy. Many Allied soldiers found refuge with local farmers. Here, tour a farm with a 17th-century barn, locally-made apple cider, and traditional apple brandy. Lunch is served at a nearby quiet port restaurant.
- Pointe du Hoc - After lunch, the coach takes you to Pointe du Hoc. From here, understand the challenges the Allies faced, with views of the English Channel and daunting cliffs blocking inland access. Cliffs combined with enemy fire made the landing at Omaha Beach a desperate battle for survival.
- Cimetière Américain de Colleville-sur-Mer - There is also an opportunity to pay respects to the fallen at the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer. The cemetery is situated on a bluff overlooking Omaha Beach, one of the D-Day landing beaches. Theodore Roosevelt, Jr., son of President Theodore Roosevelt and a Medal of Honor recipient, is buried here along with nearly 10,000 soldiers who gave their lives. The guide will provide enriching commentary and answer questions during the drive, preparing you for each stop on the tour. You’ll have time to explore the cemetery, visit the wall of the missing, the awe-inspiring memorial, and view Omaha Beach, where the Allies faced the strongest resistance and suffered the most casualties.
The return journey to Paris offers time to reflect on all that has been seen and the immense courage and sacrifice of those who fought here.
