Highlights
  • Musee d’Orsay - Paris’ other museum, the Musée d’Orsay, is the perfect complement to the Louvre. With your private guide, begin your tour through this converted Beaux-Arts train station with skip-the-line admission.

Inside, explore the artistic movements that led up to Impressionism and its colorful works. See Manet’s scandalous Luncheon on the Grass and Renoir’s Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette. Discuss with your guide the artists who preceded the Impressionists, like Millet and ‘the Gleaners,’ as well as those who followed, such as Post-Impressionist artist Van Gogh, whose Bedroom in Arles is on display. And, of course, check out works by the father of Impressionism himself, Claude Monet, including his famous poppies.

Learn about the art evolution and personalities that went into creating the Impressionist movement, and understand why these seemingly simple works were so revolutionary at the time.

By the end of your tour, you’ll have learned about techniques used by the artists, seen both the highlights and lesser-known gems of the Orsay, and admired the beautiful architecture of the museum itself.

Excellent tour - Hugo was one of the best guides I ever had. He was passionate and contextualized several important pieces. The museum itself is beautiful, but going on tour through it really made it a remarkable experience. Strongly recommend.

Give me Impressionism over Italian Creepy Baby Art! - We did the Louvre and Orsay back-to-back, and I enjoyed the Orsay more. Our guide, Marcel, was incredibly knowledgeable. He was also our guide for the Louvre and provided us with an excellent experience. Small groups are worth the price in our estimation. The artwork was breathtaking.

Hugo our Guide - Our Guide, Hugo, was brilliant. Hugo explained the history behind the Rodin statues which enlightened us about Rodin and his work. He explained to us about Impressionism. We visited many paintings by many of the Impressionists. He told us about the artists and their paintings. All of this was done by Hugo with passion and often with humour. I am finding it difficult to express how wonderful Hugo was as our Guide. He is the best Guide we have ever had.

Inspiring experience - Terrific and informative guide. The museum has expanded exponentially since I was there 20 years ago. The experience was well worth the cost of the guided tour.

Great guide, beautiful art, interesting history - We enjoyed the museum, and learned so much more in a limited time with the help of our very knowledgeable guide, than we could on our own or with a prerecorded tour.

Crowded museum. - Guide was very knowledgeable and was passionate about the pieces in the museum. However, she was 10 min late and seemed like she just wanted to get the tour over so she could go on holiday. It was Olympic week and some of the roads were blocked, but all the participants got there early. The museum was crowded because it was a rainy day and she had some issues being in crowds. She did run the tour about 10 min longer for being late but the minimum. The Museum was great and and would return.
