Cancellation: 6 days learn more
Highlights
  • 59 Rue du Cardinal Lemoine - Assemble at a culinary school in the heart of Paris (59 Rue du Cardinal Lemoine) to kick off your cooking session. Should you choose the 6-hour option, begin with a flaky croissant and a warm beverage, either coffee or tea, before venturing to an outdoor market in the vicinity of Paris’ Latin Quarter with your guide. There, you’ll select fresh produce for your cooking and sample some cheeses with your mentor.

If the 4.5-hour course is your preference, join the culinary school once your guide has completed their market run. Start by devising a three-course meal plan for lunch, featuring a starter, main course, and dessert. Under the careful supervision of your guide, embark on the cooking process. During this time, you’ll learn valuable cooking techniques emblematic of French cuisine.

Following a two-hour culinary endeavor (accompanied by a glass or two of wine), proceed to the dining area with your cooking companions. Relish in the exquisite meal you’ve crafted and savor a half bottle of wine, choosing between white or red. Additionally, you’ll be educated on the sophisticated practice of matching wines with food. Upon conclusion, you’ll be provided with digital versions of the recipes, enabling you to replicate the dishes in your own kitchen.

Must do! - Fabulous class. Due to the Olympics the market was closed so we went to a grocery store - fun learning about all the different cheeses, veggies we would be using and picking out a few treats to try. Then back to start cooking with Fredrick… wonderful instructor!!! This is a must do cooking class!

Fun, Delicious Class - The class was wonderful! The chef is so knowledgeable and fun. I learned a lot of interesting things about the history of some dishes and cooking techniques. Everyone in the class was able to have hands-on experience making the dishes. The food was incredible! One of the best lunches I had in Paris.

Fun with Chef Luc - Our class was led by Chef Luc and he was amazing. Due to the Olympics, the food market was closed so instead, he took us to a beautiful grocery store and taught us how to pick out the best ingredients which was actually more helpful because I can apply that skill to when I shop at home. The actual cooking class was fun and Chef Luc was very attentive. We learned several French cooking techniques and got to snack on cheese, fresh bread, and wine throughout the course. I originally thought everyone would be cooking everything on their own but it was more of a team effort and we all worked together and had our own parts to bring the meal together. It was very fun and enjoyed meeting the other members of the class along with learning from Chef Luc. He’s the best! Also…the food tasted a lot better than my pics show…I’m just horrible at plating food and making food look fancy lol

Cooking class w/ market visit- loved it! - What a fantastic experience! Luc was incredibly knowledgeable, easy going, and SO passionate about both cooking and the food itself! The small group size allowed for a ton of hands on time. The Grande Epicerie was absolutely stunning. Great communication throughout as far as meeting time/place, last minute adjustments, etc.

Great cooking experience! - Absolutely loved this class! Frederique was the perfect host/teacher. He knows his food at a molecular level, has a witty sense of humour, speaks impeccable English, is patient (even when you stuff up a little), was always present and made us feel like Michelin star chefs. Merci beaucoup!

Wonderful group activity - best for adults and mature kids - My adult daughter, one of her friends, and I had a fabulous experience this morning with Le Foodist. Our teacher Luc was friendly, informative, and anxious for us to have a great experience and delicious lunch. Due to the Olympics they had to substitute a visit to Le Grande Epicerie for the market visit. Frankly, I think this was a positive as we experienced one of the most amazing food retailers in the city. It's worth a visit on it's own if you're into cooking. Everything moves fast in order to get lunch ready by 2PM after a 9AM shopping start. You don't get to prepare everything - you mostly do prep but get exposed to a range of cooking techniques - many new to me. We also go the chance to socialize with our classmates a bit - a fun departure from sightseeing - and for us Olympic events.

10/10 - Would 100% do this again! After this class, I now have the skills of a professional chef. Just kidding. But, we learned a lot about the intersection of food and French history. Plus the wine was unlimited. Excellent experience!

Another excellent class with Le Foodist! - Chef Fred is funny, knowledgeable, and extremely personable and engaged with every person in the class. While we prepared lunch, Chef Fred also shared a little history of French food. We learned techniques that can easily be replicated at home, as well as how to adapt the recipes to the ingredients that are available. We thouroughly enjoyed the instruction, the information, and of course, the delectable lunch!
