- Eiffel Tower - The Eiffel Tower has been built by French engineer Gustave Eiffel, for the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris. This magnificent technical feat was achieved in a mere two years, two months and five days. It stands 324 metres tall, and the metal structure weighs 7,300 tonnes. Parisians were scandalised by its metallic look and height. It was built to last 20 years. A radio antenna was added to the top in 1903, saving the tower from demolition. It has now become the monument symbolic of Paris.

Seine River trip - Our guide was wonderful. She was clear and thorough. And you could tell she was a professional tour guide. We could hear her well and she was quite informative. Tourists on another line stated there was no commentary and felt lost. They should have taken this one.

Made Paris alive….. - The narrator was superb and the one hour was perfect. The boat left on time and returned on time. It was a beautiful day and the sights made Paris that much more enjoyable.
My boat had no upstairs cover, even for a portion, and on a blazing hot day, it would have helped.
My only suggestion….

Post Olympics by Water - Scenic and saw more than I would see by car. We felt as if we seeing Olympics as we saw on TV. We saw more as if we saw Paris for the first time.

Overall, a wonderful experience! - I had an amazing experience on the cruise! Tourists and riders can see a few of the wonderful Parisian attractions Paris has to offer. Also, the snack was pretty tasty!

Inexpensive and fun tour on the Seine, read the fine print on food - I highly recommend a Seine tour to anyone that visits Paris, since it's a pretty city from the river (and elsewhere) and helps to get your bearings. This cruise on Vedettes de Paris is inexpensive and very convenient from the Eiffel Tower. We found the English narration (live!) to be good and engaging.
I deducted one star since the "snack" option was a little disappointing. I was looking forward to eating on the boat! But it turns out the meal options involve eating at their cafe on the dock. The cafe was good but not spectacular.
It sounds like the best way to do a daytime Seine tour is to bring your own food.

Would not recommend boat tour - This business is obviously the most popular in the city because of the high stars and convenience to the Eiffel Tower. However, it was so busy and was the least personal tour we did in Paris. The top outdoor seating was all taken, and from inside you can’t hear the tour guide or even see out and up at what is going on during the tour. We were completely separated from the rest of the tour. I would have preferred a smaller tour for more money to have a better experience. I would not recommend this tour, and find a different one even though it’s the most convenient one to book. If you have more time put in the extra effort to find a tour!

Take the bus tour instead - First, for those unfamiliar with Paris, as we were, 90% of the route along this cruise has the views significantly obscured by the concrete retaining sides of the Seine.
You are essentially looking at the tops of the buildings and monuments the guide is rapidly pointing out in an indistinguishable mixture of French and English.
Also what remains of the view is then further obscured by the canopy of the boat.
Personally, I wish we’d taken the bus tour instead. I will say the staff are very friendly and try crepes were nice!
