Amazing tour with amazing guide. Highly recommend - This tour was amazing. The booking process was easy and smooth and Victor kept me informed as the tour was booked many months in advance. When I told him that we weren’t physically very fit, he modified the tour to make it more suitable for us. The joining instructions were clear and we found the meet up point without problems.
The hike itself was on mainly flat terrain. Victor told us about the life and work of Van Gogh and Impressionist paintings in general. These stories were illustrated with pictures he had in his portfolio. I am a bit of an art history buff but he still came up with snippets of information that even I didn’t know. When we got to Auvers-sur-Oise he walked us around the important places in the life of Van Gogh and showed us where to take the best photos. The half day flew by. Even the other two participants who had no interest in art were entertained. I would definitely go on another tour with Victor again. Highly recommended and a great way to spend half a day from Paris doing something a bit different from the usual sightseeing/ museums. Best tour I’ve been to in a long time.

Unique day trip from Paris - This tour was wonderful. I researched how to get to Auvers sur Oise on my own and quickly realized a tour would be very beneficial for convenience and knowledge. It does involve some 17K steps and locations are some distances away from each other but my older parents were able to keep up as Victor takes several breaks/rests along the way. Victor loves what he does and whether you know nothing about Van Gogh and the impressionists, or are a Van Gogh fanatic, youll learn something worthwhile and new on this adventure with Victor. Relatively flat but the pace is moderate. Fortunately Victor provides ear pieces so you can hear everything even if you lag behind. Thank you Victor!

Like Stepping Back in Time - a Fantastic Experience - This is easily one of the best tours I've ever done - you are led on an amazing walk through the landscapes the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists painted, with lots of fascinating information conveyed in a fun, engaging way. Victor has obviously put a lot of thought and time into developing this tour - he has mapped out a route that allows him to explain the history of the Impressionists, show the way the countryside has been preserved so that we can appreciate the same landscapes that they did, and he has found the exact spots where different painters stood to create their pictures. He shares a huge amount of knowledge which he obviously adds to continuously (and at the end of the tour he even sends you the links so you can read up the details if you want to!) If you like art this is a must-do, something you will remember all your life and which will really enhance your understanding of that period, and if you don't know much about art but like the idea of a long ramble in the countryside seeing how people live outside tourist areas, it's also fantastic!
You do need to be able to walk at a steady pace for several hours, and there is one rough track up a steep hill, so this isn't for anyone with mobility issues - but as long as you're a good walker you don't need to be super-fit to enjoy this tour.

Amazing Experience! - I highly recommend this experience! Victor was an amazing guide who taught us everything about Vincent Van Gough, literally walking in his footsteps. Victor is very kind and friendly, and gave clear instructions on when and where to meet. If you want to escape Paris for a while and enjoy the countryside then I highly recommend this experience as it combines nature, walking and history😀

Great combination of art history and the outdoors - A great experience that combined art history with an easy hike near Paris. I found it very moving to see the very locations in which Van Gogh painted his final 80 paintings (and where he so tragically died) in the summer of 1890.
The hike was easy—about 9 km with very little climbing—and passed through some pretty wooded areas as well as along the Oise River. Victor did a wonderful job of providing historical information and context along the way. Victor’s instructions for the logistics of meeting preparing for the tour were clear and helpful. A highlight of my trip to Paris.

Favorite experience! - Fantastic! I would give more stars if I could, even on a chilly February day. 6 mile hike along the river, up some hills and through several villages painted by the impressionists, ending at Van gogh’s grave. Victor is a terrific guide. Very knowledgeable and enjoyable. Great if you love the Impressionists, but also for a different view of the French countryside.

A once in a lifetime adventure to truly understand the life of Vincent Van Gogh - The hiking tour with Victor was a once in a lifetime experience! Victor's knowledge of Vincent Van Gogh and the Impressionists is encyclopedic! His ability to explain the birth and the development of the Impressionist movement was so clear and insightful.
The hike itself was beautiful as we wandered through the countryside and one can really actually see how the gorgeous landscape inspired Van Gogh. We stopped by many of the actual spot where Van Gogh painted.
Because of the tour I now can truly appreciate the miracles that occurred that brought the genius of Van Gogh to the public. At he heart of this story was the incredible bond between Vincent and his brother Theo that allowed Vincent to flourish as a painter. We ended the tour at the cemetery where the two brothers are finally buried next to each other for eternity, united as one tomb by the ivy plants.
Victor skillfully told this amazing and tender tale with so much insights and care. He is a master storyteller!
Do yourself a favor and take this very unique and magical tour!
