Great native English speaking tour - A real intimate native English speaking tour experience in Montmartre. Even after 9 years of living in Paris, this tour still managed to teach me so many things about this iconic neighborhood.

Super exclusive experience in Montmartre - We had a great tour of Montmartre with Jonathan. He took us around the hill to different historical spots always giving very interesting details and background. The tour of the museum allows to aggregate this overview in one comprehensive review of the history of Montmartre and its artists. And it is incredible to discover the beautiful gardens placed along this visit. The peak - after sharing Montmartre with lots of tourists - being the very exclusive wine tasting in the enclosed vineyard. Thanks to both guides and bravo to the vineyard gardener Vincent for the upkeep of the plot and the lovely flowers.

Very VIP - I have visited Montmartre before and always wanted to visit the vineyard but never thought it would be possible. This is a great tour, with interesting stories and stops along the way and my favorite part was to experience the very special vineyard in the middle of Montmartre!

Lovely to go off the beaten path - I had an amazing time with Johnny! The tour was lovely and it was really nice to go a bit off the beaten path (beyond the funiculare and Sacré Coeur) and learn more about the neighborhood in general. The vineyard visit is amazing as well, and the guide that told us the story of the vineyard was so so lovely. Montmartre is a very unique part of Paris and I had no idea about that. I learned tons!

Very Disappointing Tour - I have done many tours with Walks since 2009. Our first tour was in 2009 in Rome, Italy with a private tour guide, Jason Spiehler. Shortly after that, Jason became the founder of Walks of Italy. We did three outstanding tours with him in Rome. He was knowledgeable, engaging and just an exceptional tour guide. He got me hooked on taking tours whenever I travel. I have done several tours with his company, Walks, in New York City, Venice, Florence, Mallorca, Seville, Barcelona, Madrid, and Toledo, Spain. All the tour guides I had were excellent and made the tours so enjoyable. In May I booked three tours with Walks of Paris for six of us. We did the Ultimate Food Tour and The Medieval Paris Walking Tour with Notre Dame and Skip the Line Chapelle. Both tours were 5 stars with excellent, outstanding guides, Juan and Adam. The last tour we did was of Montmartre with Johnny. It was by far the worse tour I have ever done with Walks. Our tour got off to a bad start when we had a terrible time trying to find the meeting place. We finally found our guide and began a hike up a hill to the Funicular. We waited in a long line before we made it to the top. Why not just meet at the Funicular to save time? We lost at least 40 minutes of our tour time just getting up to the Basilica. When we got to the top we saw the outside of the Sacre-Coeur Basilica but were not allowed to go in. We were told we would have to do that on our own time. The tour was running late. The streets of Montmartre were very crowded. There was no time to stop and take pictures or look at the street art. Johnny was rushing us through the streets to get to the museum for our tour time. All the time he kept talking and looking down reading from his notes. He was not engaging at all. He seemed to be knowledgable but could not keep our interest. I read the other reviews and can’t believe this was the same Johnny. Maybe he was just having a bad day. The best part of the tour was the vineyard and wine tasting. We had a new guide there. I apologize that I can’t remember her name. She was what I expected of a guide from Walks. She was interesting and enjoyable. It was a good ending to an expensive, terrible tour of Montmartre with Johnny.

Montmartre Experience with Private Vineyard Tasting - I wrote a review of this tour the day after we took it on our recent visit to Paris. It was never posted and I find that disturbing. There were 6 of us traveling together and we booked 3 tours with Walks before we left the US. We've done numerous tours with Walks in the past and always been extremely pleased and have had exceptional guides. This was the one exception! To begin with the meeting point was very difficult to find. We took an Uber to the location and we were on the street where we were supposed to meet, but could not the street number. Finally after about 30 minutes of walking all over we realized the number we were looking for was actually a “square.” It would have been much more convenient to say we will meet on the square across from a specific store or restaurant that would have been familiar to us. We mentioned this to our guide, Johnny, and he said that might be a good idea. He did have a small sign and that’s how we finally found him. Overall, we found our guide to not be accommodating. He never attempted to engage us in the tour. He talked constantly and never looked at us; he was always looking down at his feet. It was difficult to keep our minds on what he was saying because he needed to involve us. We didn’t have time to stop, take a picture, ask a question, etc. I'm sure he was very knowledgeable, but just didn’t fit the role of a guide. At the end of the tour we did the private tasting in the vineyard and the volunteer there was wonderful!! She was energetic and you could tell she was thrilled to be sharing the vineyard and her experiences there. As I said in the beginning we’ve done many tours with Walks and always had a super experience-I cannot say the same for this one. I should say we did another Walks Tour-Medieval Paris Walking Tour with Notre Dame and Skip the Line Sainte Chapelle that was fabulous and Adam, the tour director was top notch!!!! I reviewed that one on Trip Advisor and that review was posted.
