Excellent and budget friendly tour with great guide - I had a great time in this tour and felt very cared for by our guide, AJ. He knows so much about Thai culture, temples and history and his English is excellent! He is very patient and makes sure everyone is comfortable, a very kind and generous guy. Please mind that there are lots of temples to see and you might get tired. I wouldn't plan anything else on the day, I was knackered! Also use lots of sunscreen as they are open temples, so no shades. In general, I super recommend this tour!

Great Day in Old Capital - I booked a morning tour with a different company, but a couple days before they informed me that they were only doing an afternoon one. I was flying out that night so I couldn’t do an afternoon tour. I signed up for this one last minute. A few hours later I got a message from the company telling me where to meet and even including photos of what to look for as well as the dress code (modest dress since it is a temple.) The guide AJ was upbeat and nice. I could tell he enjoyed talking about Thailand which he referred to as “my country.” We visited 3 temples before a delicious lunch at a local place then another temple after lunch. AJ gave us a time to meet after exploring each stop but we ended up being a little behind schedule which was fine because we learned a lot. There wasn’t a lot of time to shop which I was happy with but something to keep in mind if you book the tour. We arrived in Bangkok later than I expected but couldn’t really help it with traffic and it was New Year’s Eve. Overall a great day in Ayutthaya and seeing the Buddha in the tree which was what I wanted to see the most.

Very nice - The tour was really nice. Our guide was very professional and open to answering all of our questions. We definitely visited a lot of ruins which was quite interesting, but I'd recommend you bring some sun protection and a fan bc especially at noon it gets really hot. We did get a lot of water from the bus driver though. The food at lunch was okay but nothing special.

Great tour for solo travelers - Alex was our tour guide and I think he did an amazing job taking us back to the past to learn so much about the rich history and culture of Thailand. I appreciate his humor and ability to make this tour as lovely as possible even with the humidity. We had pad Thai at a local restaurant and were given two bottles of water per person during the trip to keep hydrated. I met another solo traveler while on this tour so I definitely recommend for people who are looking for solo things to do. Thank you, Alex!

A great day and reliable company with great tour guide - Well organised tour. Our guide, Paul, was knowledgeable, engaging, humorous and we could understand him well. He was very passionate about making sure all went well for us, his guests and never once was unapproachable. His knowledge was exceptional about Ayutthaya history. The tour was very well organised with pick up from river city and drop off at national stadium. This made sure we all got back at reasonable hour - I like another tour we took earlier in the week which insisted they drop us all off at various hotels - added 3 hours onto end time due to Bangkok traffic. So gold star for that one on this tour. Made much more sense. Lunch was nice. Plenty of free time at the sites for pictures etc Only thing I’d say was there was no communication before hand- I even wrote and asked a question but it was ignored. You need to wear over knees and shoulders for this tour. Info not included on booking info and when you google Ayutthaya is says it’s relaxed on dress code- but it’s not. Luckily had emergency trousers and shirt in my bag!

Rich Cultural Excursion - Our tour guide and driver were simply outstanding! They were very personable, attentive, patient and knowledgeable. Boeing, our guide, shared a rich history of everything, including personal anecdotes and he even sang the Thai national anthem. Mr. K, the driver, provided us with cold, bottled water and cold baby wipes after every stop, even adding a treat after one of the stops. The lunch included a wide selection of dishes and ours were great. The coconut smoothies were also delightful. Overall, great experience, and worth it. Highly recommend this excursion!

Amazing - Amazing experience. Uncle Sam (tour guide) went above and beyond to make this trip very memorable. Recommend to request him if possible. Lunch was very tasty. If you are doing this tour try to book on the first or last Wednesday of the month. You will be dropped off at MBK shopping mall at the end and enjoy a free Muay Tai Fighting event.

Relaxing day trip - We saw 4 temple ruins, ate a large and tasty lunch, and appreciated our guide Paul's historical knowledge and fun sense of humor. The bus ride out and back was comfortable, and although we left earlier than we would have liked, by leaving early we avoided the traffic and especially the heat that would have come later in the day. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Was not worth the money - Our day started off with us arriving at the meeting point about one hour in advance and the tour representative searching for about half hour before telling us that our reservation was not with their tour company. He sent us to another tour nearby who told us the same thing and sent us somewhere else. We had to walk back and forth for another half hour only to end back up at the Groove meeting point with the first tour. He checked again and finally decided that we were with his tour and we boarded the bus. If we had not persisted, they would have left without us. When we got on the bus, all the seats were already taken so we were forced to sit at the back of the bus in very cramped seats (even though we were there one hour in advance and should have been able to choose our seats). The other part of the tour that I felt was lacking is the lunch. The food was not the best and the bathroom facilities at the lunch location was terrible. Despite this, we enjoyed walking around looking at the ruins. Although they all looked the same, so it began to feel repetitive. The guide William gave a lot of information on the temples and Bangkok.

Ayutthaya. Shop with another site - The reason why I gave this 3 stars is the price. My group paid $15 more per person for the same experience as everyone else in the group we went with. Even though there is a price guarantee the others took a different tour group which happened to be the one that my group was placed with. So same EXACT EXPERIENCE but $15 more. So look online elsewhere. The experience itself was good, the sites were different and unique. Also there were umbrellas at every site. I thought it was pricy for what I paid however had it been the other amount which the others paid ~ $35-40 USD it would have been worth it. It made the experience less desirable.
