Pattaya to Khao Yai National Park
Pattaya - Ride through the picturesque and well-known resort town of Pattaya. This beautiful town features a tranquil sea on one side, numerous stunning resorts on the other, and is surrounded by lush green countryside.
Khao Yai National Park - Our first stop is Thailand’s third-largest National Park, Khao Yai, located about 190 km away through scenic countryside. The park entrance marks the beginning of a great excursion through this long-standing nature preserve, where we can admire its stunning waterfalls, including the 150m-tall Haew Narok. The park is home to a diverse array of wildlife, so don’t be surprised to see elephants, bears, gibbons, hornbills, and many other indigenous species.
Primo Piazza Khao Yai - Palio is a charming shopping center themed around a Tuscan village, offering a unique mix of clothing and gift shops, gourmet snacks, live entertainment, and an eclectic array of independent stores and stalls. The idea was to bring the charm of Tuscany to the heart of Thailand. Both places share a cool, sunny climate and both grow wine, although not to the same distinction. From this connection, the developers of Palio have created something truly unique and unmistakably modern.
Khao Yai to Phetchabun
Si Thep Historical Park - Si Thep Historical Park contains the ruins of ancient Phetchabun, including Si Thep Ancient Town, originally called Mueang Aphai Sali. Believed to have been built during the peak of the ancient Khmer empire, it is no less than 1,000 years old. The historic town is surrounded by a moat and a mound, with ponds and swamps dotting the compound. Attractions include the Information Centers (both old and new), which display ancient remains and rotating exhibits on the history and archaeology of the park. Noteworthy is the Prang Song Phi Nong spire, built during the 11th or 12th century in the Baphuon style of Khmer art during the Angkor Wat period. The Khao Klang Nai Ancient Monument, located in the center of town, was constructed even earlier, between the 6th and 7th centuries.
Wat Pha Sorn Kaew - Perched atop a hill against a backdrop of stunning mountain ranges, Wat Pha Sorn Kaew Temple is one of Thailand’s best-kept secrets and a beautiful work of art. As you approach, you can see five statues of the Buddha, each of a different size, looking majestic among the mountains. The temple is arguably Thailand’s most attractive, featuring a colorful mosaic wall adorned with tiles and ornaments. Surrounded by nature, it is a tranquil location known as a center for meditation. Although there is no public transport to the site, it is easily accessible by private transportation. Entrance is free, but donations are welcome to help maintain this gorgeous place.
Petchabun-Phutabberk-Wat Phra Thart SornKaew-Phitsanulok
Phitsanulok - Phitsanulok is a gem for motorcycle enthusiasts, offering a thrilling blend of history and natural beauty. Riding through the city reveals cultural wonders like Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, while the journey towards Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park promises winding paths and mountainous terrain. Naresuan Dam provides a scenic pitstop, and the banks of the Nan River offer picturesque routes with glimpses of traditional Thai life. The exploration extends to the mountains of Khao Kho, revealing panoramic vistas and refreshing climates. Phitsanulok, with its rich heritage and diverse landscapes, invites riders to embark on an exhilarating journey of cultural discovery and scenic exploration. Overnight stay in Phitsanulok.
Phisanulok-Sukhothai (UNESCO heritage site original Thailand second city)-Mae Sot (Burmese border town)
Khao Kho - The Khao Kho mountains consist of various small and large mountains in the Phetchabun range, located in Amphoe Khao Kho. Mountain Serdang trees, or “Ton Kho” in Thai, are scattered throughout the mountains, giving them their name. The area features a range of forests, including deciduous, pine, and evergreen forests. The noteworthy Palmae plant, similar to the Asian Palmyra, can sometimes be spotted here, bearing fruits in bunches like betel nuts. Within Khao Kho lies the Haw Memorial, a statue commemorating the militiamen from the Special Forces, Division 93, who fought and lost their lives in Khao Kho.
Mae Sot - Drive to the culturally rich town of Mae Sot, one of the most diverse cities in Thailand. Walking through the streets, you’ll see a fascinating mix of Burmese men in longyi (sarongs), Hmong and Karen women in traditional hill-tribe dress, bearded Muslims, Thai army rangers, and foreign NGO workers. Burmese and Karen are spoken as much as Thai, and shop signs are in Thai, Burmese, and Chinese. Much of the temple architecture is Burmese. Mae Sot has also become a major jade and gem center along the border, with much of the trade controlled by Chinese and Muslim immigrants from Myanmar.
Sukhothai - Sukhothai, the original capital of Thailand and a UNESCO World Heritage site, beckons motorcycle enthusiasts with a ride through the historical heart of the nation. As you navigate the city’s streets, remnants of the ancient kingdom come to life, especially within the Sukhothai Historical Park. Riding through the park, adorned with ancient temples and Buddha statues, transports you back in time. The open roads surrounding Sukhothai offer a unique blend of tranquility and historical richness. The ride towards Si Satchanalai Historical Park reveals more archaeological wonders, providing a scenic backdrop for motorcycle exploration. Beyond the historical sites, Sukhothai’s rural landscapes captivate riders, offering a glimpse into the traditional Thai way of life. The journey along the Yom River provides not only scenic routes but also an opportunity to witness the simplicity and charm of the local communities.
Mae sot heading north on the Thai/Burmese border road- Mae sariang
Mae Sot - After checking out from the hotel, ride along the Burmese border before turning inland to Mae Sariang.

The town still has many old teak buildings, a few Burmese/Shan-style wats, some fine accommodation options, and offers a great glimpse of traditional, small-town Thailand.
Mae Sariang - Mae Hong Son
Salawin National Park - Salween (Salawin) National Park is located in the far west of Mae Sariang district, Mae Hong Son, and encompasses well-preserved forested hills along the slopes of the watershed between the Yuam and Salween Rivers. It’s a large national park of more than 720 square kilometers, created recently by incorporating parts of the already established Salween Wildlife Sanctuary and Lum Nam Khong National Park. It connects to the equally large Mae Yuam Wildlife Sanctuary to the north and is adjacent to the Nam Ngao National Park to the south, creating a vast area of forest and mountains.
