Additional Information

Experience the pinnacle of wildlife sights in Victoria. The Penguin Parade is a definite ‘go-to’ for all visitors, although this tour offers much more.

Our first stop is at the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, where you can have a close encounter with wallabies on the wallaby walk (there’s a chance you might see little joeys peeking out from their mothers’ pouches). Have fun listening to a park ranger, who provides information and special insights during the daily presentation about koalas.

After that, we head to the stunning Cape Woolamai Surf Beach. Situated on Phillip Island’s southern coastline, this beach faces the open sea and boasts quite an impressive surf. You may also get to see dolphins or seals frolicking in the waters close to shore.

We also pay a visit to the Nobbies and the largest Fur Seal colony in Australia at Seal Rocks. And finally, we arrive at the highlight of our trip: hundreds of Little Penguins exiting the sea and parading across the beach to their burrows in the sand dunes.

  • Photography and video are NOT PERMITTED at the Penguin Parade
  • Large bags, strollers, prams, baby capsules, luggage & walkers cannot be brought on board
  • If travelling with an infant, please contact Tour Operator directly and request infant seat

It was a pleasant day with Go West Tours. - Terry was our tour leader and our chauffeur on our Phillip Island Parade Day Tour. The trip was fun but unfortunately we could not see much of the Penguin Parade as it was so dark and very crowded when the Penguins were coming back ashore.

Great encounter with penguins - I loved the tour. My kid loved the experience of patting the Koala, feeding the kangaroo, and watching the fairy penguin.

Uniquely Australian - This was one of the highlights of my trip. In a span of about 10h I have experienced something I call uniquely Australian. At Moonlit Animal Sanctuary we saw kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, wombat, and many birds I’ve seen for the first time. Then we headed off to Phillip Island to see the penguins on parade. Along the way we saw beautiful sceneries of the countryside with cows (first time to see pure white ones), sheep, and horses, and the coast (we stopped to see very colorful bath houses). At Phillip Island we did a little hike on a boardwalk down a hill; the view was magnificent. Then to the much anticipated penguin parade, we passed by many wallabies, geese and other birds. The little penguins were so cute and funny as they waddled from the water through a stretch of sandy beach and onto the hillside to their burrows. Our guide, Rachael, was very nice, friendly, entertaining and informative. She is a gem. I would do this eco tour activity again if I come back here. It was so worth the time and money I spent.

Great experience & little penguins - The Phillip island tour culminating with experiencing nature at its best with the little penguins braving their lives coming ashore among the crowds - many who do not respect the rules of no photos for the sanctity of the penguins - was wonderful. I also got to see many of Australia’s animals at a sanctuary prior to the penguins and on Philip island there was also wildlife to see like the wallabies & some distinct geese.

Sorry We Couldn’t Participate - It is one of my biggest disappointments that we did not get to participate because of an unexpected illness.
