Supernova Tours: A South Shore Must Do - We capped off our five-day trip to Halifax with a South Shore Adventure Tour from Supernova Tours. Elaina and Mike picked us up at our hotel and were our guides for the day! Elaina and Mike are super friendly and accommodating. It was great to get to know them and have conversations with them as we drove to Peggy's Cove. As residents of the area, their local knowledge is off the charts! They even satisfied our interest in Oak Island. They took us on a slight detour on our trip and stopped by the famous island so we could get a peek! Peggy's Cove was amazing and we spent our time there taking in the sights of the ocean crashing along the shores and the famous lighthouse. Lunenburg is beautiful with a busy waterfront and lots to see. Elaina and Mike's local knowledge of the busy crowds and streets proved to be helpful - getting us to an excellent drop off point and pick up location for when we were done our time in Lunenburg. While all the sights were beautiful, a real highlight was getting to see caves at Ovens Natural Park! Elaina and Mike made sure we were equipped with the information we needed to explore these caves along the ocean and the walking trail. Not only did we get to see and explore the caves, we saw a pod of dolphins swim by the shoreline! Before returning us to our hotel, Elaina and Mike made sure we stopped at a small park in Halifax to see a piece of anchor shaft from the Mont-Blanc, one of the ships involved in the Halifax Explosion. This large piece of the anchor (1,140 lbs!) was sent 3.8 kms through the air and landed in what is now a park. Again, it was our conversations with Elaina and Mike and their local knowledge that led to this little extra detour! Supernova Tours was the highlight of our trip! We had a great time with Elaina and Mike and highly recommend their tours. If you are planning a trip to Halifax or the South Shore area, be sure to check out the tours from Supernova Tours. Thanks, Supernova Tours!!!
