Highlight of my trip - My session with Yasmin was one of my favorite parts of my trip to Salvador! I love that she included the history and explanation of why and how each move is performed so I could really understand and feel the spirit of the dance. She is so kind and she’s an excellent teacher. I’m so grateful for this experience.

Such a fun samba class! - We had a fantastic experience doing the samba class! My partner and I each got to learn the moves for men and women and then put them together. Our teacher Yasmin was amazing, she speaks super English and made the class really fun. The history of the associacão is very rich and it felt like a unique cultural opportunity to learn samba in this place. The class taught us all about the origins of samba and gave us the confidence to try dancing to live samba later that night in the streets!

Capoeira attempt - Gilmar knew how to show us many basics of Capoeira in just 1 hour and let us practice. It was a lot of fun. Muscle soreness included.
