A Dual Purpose Tour! - Duel Christian, a man of many talents and interests with a flair for making everyone feel special, is the enthusiastic guide on this unique tour.
Passionate about history, Duel infuses a delectable food tour with large portions of The City of Five Flag's history. Pensacola is fortunate to have people like Duel sharing interesting tales about the evolution of this unique city.
The tour that I joined took place at 1 PM on a partly sunny day when the real feel temps soared past 100 degrees. I commend Duel for keeping all of his guests comfortable and engaged. We were a motley crew that included 3 young seniors and a young family with 9 and 10-year old daughters, who were very well-behaved and curious. I'm not sure that every child would remain engaged on the 3-hour tour, especially on a hot and humid day, but Duel works diligently to keep the activity interesting for all. He also ensures the safety of his guests, warning them about uneven curbs and traffic as well as keeping them out of the afternoon Pensacola sun. On most stops, tap water is available and often served automatically. As someone who can be prone to dehydration, I never felt at-risk on a day when heat advisories had been issued throughout the Gulf Coast.
The tour runs efficiently as Duel contacts restauranteurs along the way. The different options-anything from Southern fried green tomatoes to an upscale version of grilled cheese to Peruvian cerviche, which is then capped off with some special take-home treats from golf icon Bubba Watson's downtown candy and ice cream shop-are ready within minutes of the tour group's arrival.
A few tips to guests:
-The meet-up location is on shaded benches in front of the impressive First United Methodist Church on E Wright Street (despite where Google Maps may lead you.)
-There is ample free parking close by.
-Wear comfortable shoes as you will walk just over 7/10 of a mile in one direction (double that if you must return to the starting point).
A dynamic food scene has evolved in Pensacola to complement the city's rich and complex history. Duel Christian gives life to all of it on his unique food tours.

Great time - Very informative tour great food and food that I most likely wouldn't eat other wise. You're so engaged that you don't realize how far you've walked until you do the walk back.

Great tour with lots of history too! - We really enjoyed the food tour. Duel was great, and told us about as many other places we could eat as well as the gems he took us too. My sister and her husband just moved to Pensacola, and we were visiting them. We can't wait to come back to try so many of these places again, and then some of the new ones.

great tour - there was a variety of different foods to try, we stopped at five places total. you could buy alcoholic drinks separate too if you wish. the only thing i would change is the beginning part was a bit long as our group was starving and it was very hot and sunny out but the listening to the history was interesting.
