Great course, great instructor. I learned a lot, passed the tests, but still not ready to skipper a sailboat of that magnitude without more practice. Looking forward to it.

Instructor was very thorough in the boat. A better classroom with visuals would have helped the students...

Overall, I was very happy with this class and felt like I learned a lot in a short time. If there is one thing I think could be handled better, it's communication of the study requirements before class starts. The welcome email says "We want you to familiarize yourself with some topics covered in class", but I believe we should have done some significant study ahead of time. Perhaps our situation was unique because we went straight on to the boat for the entire first day. I was under the impression we would cover basics in the classroom with an instructor to get our bearings before heading out. As such, I think most of us were pretty unprepared to jump straight on the boat and it became a trial-by-fire situation. By the time we were helmsmen circumnavigating an island a few hours later, many of us were still learning the points of sail. Luckily we were all fast learners and we did well on the certification test, but some additional verbiage in the welcome email to explain our expected knowledge base would be helpful. Thanks guys!

We had so much fun learning to sail with Captain X. I am amazed at all we learned in two days, especially with all the different parts of a sailboat to know. The wind doesn't always cooperate but we were lucky enough to have a few moments to get a feel. Captain X made me feel very comfortable and I was a little nervous having never done this before.

I really enjoyed this two day course, and learned so much from our instructor, Trey! His examples and patient guidance helped bring the textbook information to life! It’s so important to experience hands-on learning and practical application. Many thanks to Trey and Go Sail AZ for helping me succeed and starting my forever journey of learning to sail!

We got right to sailing and learned all the necessities. Trey was an excellent instructor!

Great class, excellent instructor and lots of time out on the water. We learned how to heave-to, Man Overboard drills, knot tying, understanding how to trim sails, rules of right of way and just about everything we needed while actually out on the lake sailing. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in sailing. Very professional instructor.
