The Glenloch tea plantation is maintained using proper planting methods, soil conservation, and maneuvering. Sri Lanka is renowned for its tea, benefiting from natural waterfalls, favorable climate, and ideal soil conditions. The combination of experience, dedication, and technology has earned Sri Lanka a global reputation for its Ceylon tea, with Glenloch tea being a significant contributor to this success.
Ramboda Waterfall - As rivers flow over uneven terrain or down mountains, they often split into tributaries or form waterfalls. Occasionally, two tributaries of the same river create twin waterfalls close to each other, forming a Y shape when they combine again. This unique sight can be seen at the Ramboda Pass in the Pussellawa area of Nuwara Eliya. The Ramboda Falls, also known as Ramboda Ella or Puna Ella, are formed by Puna Oya, a tributary of Kothmale Oya. They twin with Dunsinane Falls, created by Pundalu Oya, another tributary of Kothmale River, and merge at the base to form a Y shape.
Gregory Lake - Gregory Lake was created in 1873 by Sir William Gregory, the British-era Governor, supposedly to provide electricity. However, the lake was mainly used for leisure and recreation. At its peak, Gregory Lake was the most prominent attraction in the area, serving as a relaxation spot for many visitors.
Sita Temple - The Sita Amman Temple, dedicated to Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, is located in the hills of Nuwara Eliya. It is the only temple of its kind in the world and is treated with enduring devotion by Hindus. Situated five kilometers along the road from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy, the temple is believed to be where King Ravana held Sita captive. Notably, footprints by the river are thought to resemble those of Hanuman.
