Kandy, a burgeoning city in Sri Lanka’s center, nestles within a verdant mountain-rimmed plateau that teems with tea farms and diverse rainforests. The city pulses around the picturesque Kandy Lake (also known as Bogambara Lake), a favorite spot for leisure walks. Kandy’s significance lies in its revered Buddhist landmarks, especially the famous Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) which is at the center of the grand annual parade, Esala Perahera.
Our city tour of Kandy sets off at the esteemed Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Enveloped by a golden roof, this temple hosts the revered tooth relic of Lord Buddha.
Upon exiting the temple, guests can embark on a serene walk around Kandy Lake. Our expedition continues to Bahirawakanda Temple, followed by a stop at Kandy View Point.
