Highlights
  • Perast - Perast is one of the most beautiful Baroque towns in Montenegro. As a former sailor center it still shines with marvelous buildings, pretty churches and a romantic waterfront. Perast has a long history, which is dating back to the 13th century. As the center for boaters, captains and sailors, the small town grew steadily and gained wealth at the 16th century. During a walk through the old town you can still admire many splendid villas and marvelous buildings, which have already been well restored.

Inside the old town along the narrow streets you will find around 16 different churches. Probably the most famous church in Perast and one of the main attractions is the Church of St Nicholas. With a 55-meter-high bell tower, it is the highest building in all of the Bay. In the old town guests can visit Bujovic Palace. This architectural masterpiece is located directly at the sea promenade and it is the only palace in town, that can be visited from inside.

  • Our Lady of the Rocks - After free time in Perast we will visit island Our Lady of the Rocks with the church built in 17th century. The only man-made island on the Adriatic, The island made by scuttling old ships and depositing stones around a small crag. The church houses a venerable 15th century icon of Virgin Mary, now know as Our Lady of the Rocks, and an altar made of Carrara marble is a work of Genovese sculptor Antonio Capelano. Because the church was so important to the area, the interior was richly decorated with many art gifts through time.

Behind the church there is a small museum dedicated to history of Perast. The courtyard in front is known as “Place of Reconciliation.” Today the small island church acts as a sort of cultural center of Catholics of Boka.

Brilliant well worth it - We had a tremendous day out to Montenegro with our tour guide Sandra! The trip was well planned and Sandra was full of knowledge explaining different aspects of the country and it’s rich history on the bus ride and boat tour. She even taught us a few keys words to know when navigating the town! Sandra was so courteous and knowledgable while also cracking a few jokes while she was going along! Just to note the boarder crossing was long this is to be expected it was out of the tour operators control. But overall we had an excellent well planned day out to Montenegro with lots of fun.

Beautiful Montenegro - Trip got off to a start as when we were advised we could not be picked up near our accommodation, the arrangement was we would be collected at Cavtat Bus Station. I always like to be early so we were there over hslf an hour before the pick up time. (,in a very bad storm with torrential rain). It was getting later and later and we were becoming concerned but thought the delay was due to the weather or they had cancelled the trip. I tried contacting the company and then got a call from the tour guide asking where WE were as we were not at the pick up point! She argued that they were at the Bus Station and we weren't. Language barriers did not help so a local taxi driver assisted us and spoke to her, telling her that there was only ONE Bus Station in Cavtat and we were there! A mini bus with a few others then came and picked us up to then join the main coach. We were made to feel we were in the wrong and had held everyone else back which was not a nice feeling. It was also annoying as to reach the main coach we actually drove past our apartment. However after a hitch at the border when someone had to leave the coach as they did not have a visa the only issue was the weather. We could not leave the coach for a while at Kotor because of the heavy rain. It eventually dried, and although it cut our time short, (nobody's fault) wnd we had a wonderful trip. Kotor is stunning as was Our Lady of the Rocks. We did not have much time to explore Perast due to lack of time with the delays but had a nice walk beside the water. Despite the bad start to the day I would highly recommend this trip and encourage people to go.

Fabulous trip across the Montenegrin border! - I had the most wonderful day trip to beautiful Montenegro from Croatia. We were well taken care of by our tour guides and driver who were accommodating and knowledgeable in the history and culture of Montenegro. I would definitely recommend this tour to others.

Fantastic little trip in the hidden. - The environment is fantastic. The lake is calm, still and wonderfully beautiful. The boat trip is relaxing and the island itself (which is not large), invites you to give peace of mind. The tour is highly recommended.

Book with confidence - Communication was great and a pickup point was given not far from our accommodation in Cavtat. 14 of us travelled together in an immaculate, comfortable air conditioned coach driven by the patient, well-mannered, and humorous Luca who shared his historical and geographical knowledge along the way. We had to wait quite a while at customs, maybe half an hour, and the road onto Kotor was very busy, but Luca kept us well informed throughout. There was a toilet/coffee break once across the border before heading to the beautiful Prevast and Lady of the Rocks. This was a highlight of the trip as the scenery was stunning, the church and museum beautiful and fascinating, and we even spotted dolphins swim past us as we waited for the bus! Kotor old town was gorgeous and a must for cat fanatics, they’re everywhere and revered in Kotor. We had a lovely lunch and wander around. Unfortunately it was too hot to walk the city walls though I reckon this would be a great thing to do when cooler. We stayed in Kotor for 2-3hrs which flew in and we could have stayed for longer. Luca was very accommodating on the journey home letting people know to feel free to suggest drop off points that were most convenient to them. I’d definitely recommend this trip.

Great trip worth doing! - Pick up was easy and communicated clearly to us via TripAdvisor. The bus turned up on time and we headed towards the border. There were only 14 of us and the bus was well air conditioned and for the roads was a comfortable ride. Luca our driver and tour guide was fabulous. He kept us well informed throughout with interesting information and facts. Our first stop was at a small mall for a quick toilet and drink break. Had enough time to do both in the 20 mins then back on. He took us to the small border as the big one he said would likely be 2-3 hour wait. We got there and flew through no trouble. Then it was an hours drive to Perast. The first stop at Perast was lovely. Luca showed us where we needed to go for the boat tour to our lady of the rock and spoke to the guides there. We boarded the boat and they allocated us a time to be back on it with the party of 14 so we would have some time in Perast left after. We spent 30 mins on our lady of the rock and came back where we had some 20 mins to stroll the promenade and then met back up with Luca on the bus. After that we headed to the city of Kotor. This was only around 20 mins from Perast with heavy traffic heading into the city. Once there we paid a tourist fee of €1 per person (bring change) and received a map of the city and was introduced to our tour guide there in the city. We had three hours spare time in Kotor and although the tour guide was lovely we did feel we would like to use our time to explore ourselves. We did leave the guide slightly early and so did another family - we are glad we did because by the time we had some food drink and a nosy about, it was time to go back. We met Luca back at the bus at 3pm got straight through the border again without a wait and from here it was only a 30 min drive back to Cavtat. Some stayed on to Dubrovnik and Luca offered to drop people at a different location if they so desired which was really great of him. We did consider a free lift to Dubrovnik but it was a long day and a nap was in order. Luca was great throughout and we couldn't fault the trip at all. It ran smoothly and the service was great. The only reason I've given it a 4* is we felt we could have done with longer at Kotor or even at Perast. Would definitely recommend.

BAD ONE - Sorry to have to write this review but was So upset with Trip. Whole experience that I Do Need to make others aware. I suppose it may depend on who you book with and who they book with. We booked in Cavtat alone the front with a Man Called Michael. Bit of a character. We had been on another trip booked with Him to Mostar Kravice Waterfall. This was a long trip but we'll worth seeing the Waterfalls. So we booked again with Michael for the Montenegro trip. 85 euros each but he said it does include a lovely meal and drink!!!. Please see the photos I have included. Long fast walk from coach to Rickety boat to begin with. Seen much better days. No commentary on the trip to Boka Bay could have been anywhere. Spoke to tour guide( forgot her Name) and she started showing something on a board!!!. This was a shame as it looked lovely. Suppose to visit islet church and museum which we did for 20mins. Church small. Big ques so did not have time to actually go in!!!. Got off boat and walked Kotor where we were suppose to have a 20. To 30 min tour with guide!!!. Then 2 and half hour free time. NO Guided tour. Given map and told to get on with it!!!. Had to report to Michael as we then had to buy our own meal as an extra cost of 20 euros each!!! And was Very dissatisfied. He did say that He Had Had Other complaints about this tour and was Not going to use them again!!!. I wondered if He would. Could Not deny once photos were shown. The food was for 4 Adults. The toilets were just a joke. Light went off when door closed. I fell over tool box.(never hurt myself luckly. ). Tour lady didn't want to know. Another guest did Trip up when getting off boat as there wasn't a proper departure plank!!!. Michael did give me 20 euros back. Half the cost of meals. He wanted me to send photos to Him via WhatsApp which I have been trying to do since May. Could I just let others be aware tgat other people were paying different prices for the same trips!! So be ware.
