New Orleans-Degas House; Only Museum/Home in World Open-Degas "New Orleans Collections"
Daily 9am Creole Breakfast and Tour was our most exciting experience in New Orleans. Who knew that Degas, Mother and Grandmother were from New Orleans and while visiting there home on Esplanade Avenue, his painting inspired a "Better Art" form, soon after to be known as the Impressionist Movement. The first 18 paintings where painted within the home during his visit. What a treasure for New Orleans and the United States. Surprise was you may actually have one of the Great Grand Nieces of Degas take you on tour, but also have two historians doing tour. Best is an actual stay in one of the 9 Rooms available for rent. Tour choice where 9am Breakfast and Tour; Tour alone daily at 10:30am and 1:45pm. Includes walking tour of two blocks, as home is located in the GREATER TREME NEIGHBORHOOD and it follows Degas Letters about the area.

Grey Line New Orleans Night Tour
Grey Line New Orleans has a NEW Night Time Tour that brings you across the river to a beautiful club overlooking the Mississippi River and Skyline of New Orleans right across from Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral. Next stop back into an original neighborhood for a cocktail in an old mansion and on to a jazz club. Awesome tour and worth the price to enjoy the neighborhoods of New Orleans at Night. Only could take one or two nights of Bourbon Street, so this was better than Bourbon Street and a great way to see New Orleans Neighborhoods. Bus Driver and Guide were Awesome!! Highly Recommend.
I would stay at: Degas House - 2306 Esplanade Avenue
The Price of historic Rooms includes: Fabulous Creole Breakfast, Welcome Drink, Stock Small Refrigerator with water and sodas, Sherry in each room!, Wifi, Offstreet Parking 1/2 block away and the daily museum tour and historic film. Highly Recommended.
