My perfect day starts with a great view of a sunrise on Grace Bay Beach enjoyed from our private balcony, or better yet, draw back the drapes, get back in bed and enjoy the view from there.

Grace Bay Beach is ranked one of the top beaches in the world -this 12 mile stretch of sugary white sand is never crowded so you can enjoy a peaceful walk and look for starfish and sand dollars as you stroll along the shoreline and greet another gorgeous day on Providenciales.

The restaurant at the Alexandra offers one of the few al fresco beachfront dining experiences on Grace Bay Beach, as well as delicious breakfasts served in generous portion sizes. Our favorite is the fruit platter! We love sitting on the beachfront deck, enjoying the gentle trade winds and a hearty breakfast.

As soon as breakfast is over, we lather up with sunscreen and head to Grace Bay Beach for sailing, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. The water is calm, clear and warm. The Alexandra Resort offers complimentary use of water sports equipment so it's a great way to spend the morning on the water.

After working up an appetite on the water, it's time to indulge. So we stroll down Grace Bay Beach to Beach House, one of the only boutique resorts in Turks & Caicos – their restaurant (I think) is the best on the island. Try the conch salad, prepared with fresh conch, then try one of the most succulent burgers you could imagine.

Decisions, decisions, where to enjoy an afternoon nap. We like the shady cool spots by the large free form swimming pool at the Alexandra Resort. The peaceful gardens and comfortable chaises say it all - pure relaxation. Or, some days we drop into Spa Sanay for a massage and snooze.

There is a complimentary shuttle from Alexandra Resort to one of the newest resorts on Providenciales - Blue Haven Resort and Marina. We love the happy hour at Salt, a relaxed waterfront bar, or we chill out at the Fire Lounge right by the water and beside the gentle glow of the gas fire pits. We enjoy some delicious cocktails, followed by dinner at Fire and Ice. After dinner, we recommend strolling around the marina to admire the mega yachts and then head back to the Alexandra Resort for a good night's sleep.

The location cannot be beat - right on Grace Bay Beach, and it is surprising affordable. The staff is trained to perfection and there is always something going on - fun activities, kids programs, great food....Perfect hotel for our perfect vacation.
