Sao Paulo For Strolling

Açaí Beach Bar
Acai is ridiculously delicious, full of nutrients, and the perfect way to start a morning in Brazil. Augusta, which is right off of the main Avenida Paulista, is a great place to walk.
Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP)
After breakfast, walk to MASP, SP's premier modern art museum, and enjoy the modernist architecture from within and without the museum.
Livraria Cultura
Livraria Cultura is a beautiful bookstore that also doubles as a great place to stop and get a cafezinho (Brazilians' favorite espresso shot).
Rua Oscar Freire
Once on Paulista, it's just a hop, skip, and a jump away to Oscar Freire, SP's ritziest street. Enjoy the people-watching, fabulous stores, and cobblestone sidewalks.
Estádio Municipal Paulo Machado de Carvalho
Estadio Municipal Paulo Machado de Carvalho, better known as Estadio do Pacaembu, is the most central stadium in Sao Paulo to go watch a soccer (futebol) game, which is unmissable!
Museu do Futebol
Stop in after the game to the Soccer Museum, Museu do Futebol, for a history of Brazil's most beloved game.
Praça Benedito Calixto
By this point, you're probably hungry! Go to Benedito Calixto, in the Pinheiros neighborhood, for its weekly street fair. The restaurants there, including Consulado Mineiro, are delicious. If you stop by on a Saturday, be sure to get feijoada, the rice/meat stew that is Brazil's national dish.
Parque Ibirapuera
Watch the sun set in Parque Ibirapuera, SP's most beautiful park. Nestled in the neighborhood of Moema, there are also great bars around for an evening caipirinha, Brazil's alcoholic drink of choice.
Vila Madalena
For a night out on the town, go to Vila Madalena, which is SP's artsier scene. Filled with great bars and clubs, you're sure to enjoy!
I would stay at: Avenida Brigadeiro Faria Lima
I would stay on or around Avenida Faria Lima, which is centrally located on a metro line and accessible to major Sao Paulo hubs.
