WOW Cafe - Ocean Beach Pier
Located on the Ocean Beach Pier (which is the longest pier on the West Coast), the WOW (stands for Walking On Water) Cafe is a great way to start the day. Try the lobster omelette or the hearty fisherman's breakfast. (Check out my video of this Perfect Day! https://vimeo.com/54986354)
Torrey Pines Gliderport
Gliding above the La Jolla cliffside is the best way to see the coastline of La Jolla & the nearby Torrey Pines Golf Course. It's been rated the best paragliding school in the US since 2000 so you'll be in good hands taking a tandem ride with one of the instructors. Mitch's Seafood
San Diego is known for it's fish tacos and Mitch's Seafood has the BEST fish tacos - hands-down! This place is tucked away in the Point Loma Marina and is a well kept secret, even to most locals. The fish comes in fresh from the fisherman and you can sit outside and watch the fishing charter boats while you enjoy your lunch. (Check out my video of this Perfect Day! https://vimeo.com/54986354)
Sunset Cliffs
One of the best things about San Diego is just enjoying all the beautiful beaches all around. Sunset Cliffs is a beautiful spot to take in the views. (Check out my video of this Perfect Day! https://vimeo.com/54986354)
Cabrillo National Monument
The Cabrillo National Monument sits at the end of Point Loma, and offers breathtaking views of Coronado, Downtown, Point Loma & Mexico. Biking there makes it a bit more of an adventure! (Check out my video of this Perfect Day! https://vimeo.com/54986354)
Raglan Public House
Raglan Public House is located in the laid back town of Ocean Beach. It's a local hangout for the surfers and OB locals (who call themselves OBceans). It also has one of the best burgers in San Diego (grass fed beef, house made veggie burgers & freshly baked buns) and a great craft beer selection. The restaurant is owned by New Zealanders and the name comes from a popular NZ surf break. (Check out my video of this Perfect Day! https://vimeo.com/54986354)
Full Moon Drive-In
For a throwback to the SoCal 50s - head to Full Moon Drive-In. Located in Pacific Beach, just blocks from the ocean, this is a great way to end the night. Classic cars, old commercials and a retro concession stand take you back in time. (Check out my video of this Perfect Day! https://vimeo.com/54986354)
I would stay at: The Pearl Hotel
The Pearl Hotel offers a boutique hotel experience conveniently located within a 5 minute drive to the beach and 15 minute drive downtown. This hotel has an inviting, retro SoCal vibe with boutique accomodations. Hang out in the vintage-modern restaurant and bar, semi-private cabanas, and vibrant poolside environs including 'dive-in' movies.
