- Abbaye Saint-Pierre d’Hautvillers - In Hautvillers, known as the “Cradle of Champagne,” enjoy a private tour of the church where Dom Pérignon, the spiritual father of Champagne, is buried.
We will share his story and reveal whether he truly invented Champagne.
- Hautvillers - In Hautvillers, we will also visit the historic hillsides of Champagne, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to take in the stunning panorama of Champagne overlooking the Marne Valley, where Dom Pérignon conducted his winemaking experiments.

We will visit a family-run independent producer/grower to explain the Champagne-making process, including a tour of the press, winery, and cellar.
During a guided tasting, you will sample 3 different Champagnes Grand Cru/Premier Cru*.

The kings of France had their own presses here, and Champagne wines were once known as “Wines of Aÿ.”
You will discover part of this historic village and its famous vineyard, primarily planted with Pinot Noir, where we will discuss vine cultivation, grape varieties, the exceptional terroir, and sustainable viticulture.
We will also stop in front of the headquarters of famous Champagne Houses in Aÿ, such as Bollinger, Deutz, and Ayala.
During the tour, in addition to Champagnes, you will taste the 3 essential Champagne spirits and aperitifs: Ratafia, Fine de la Marne, and Marc de Champagne from the Goyard Distillery, the oldest in Champagne.
- Mareuil-sur-Ay - We will also pass through the Premier Cru village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ in the Marne Valley, with its historic hillsides also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and primarily planted with Pinot Noir. This village is home to more exclusive Champagne Houses like Champagne Billecart-Salmon and Philipponnat.
We will stop in the heart of the vineyards to admire another stunning panoramic view at the “Mont du Gruguet” viewpoint. From here, you will see both the famous “Côte des Blancs,” the Kingdom of Chardonnay Grand Cru, and the villages and vineyards of the Marne Valley on the historic hillsides of Champagne, where Champagne originated.
- Mutigny - We will also pass through the small wine-growing village of Mutigny, nestled in the heart of the vineyards above Aÿ-Champagne.
