Moraine Camp - Ascend to Alpamayo High Camp (5300 m)
Alpamayo - The Alpamayo High Camp is situated on the steep glacier at the base of Alpamayo and Quitaraju. Due to the glacier’s constant shrinkage, conditions vary each year along this section. Enjoy breathtaking views from High Camp, where the summit seems within reach! Dinner is served early as an early start is needed for the long day ahead. High Camp (5300 m). Overnight camping (B/L/D)
High Camp - Ascend to Alpamayo Summit (5947 m) - Return to High Camp (5300 m) or Descend to Base Camp (4300 m)
Alpamayo - It’s summit day! One possible route is the French route, featuring a 60 to 80-degree ice wall that narrows at the top. Beyond the wall, a few meters lead to the highest point of the narrow ridge. At the summit, enjoy a spectacular view of the Cordillera Blanca! The nearby peak of Quitaraju (6036 m) is almost within reach, and to the southwest, the impressive summit of Huascarán (6768 m) is visible. After a short rest and photos at the summit, descend quickly to High Camp via a rappel down the ascent route. In favorable weather, the climb to the summit and return to base camp can be completed by noon. The ascent takes 5-6 hours, while the descent takes about 2-3 hours. If participants are tired, an additional night can be spent at High Camp. If everyone feels well, which is common, descend to Alpamayo Base Camp (4300 m). Overnight camping (B/L/D)
