From Cusco, enjoy a scenic 90-minute drive with stunning views of the mountains and Sacred Valley, arriving at the Salt Mines of Maras. Here, you will tour the Salt Mines and observe the colorful pools used to evaporate salt from the water bubbling up from an underground spring.

After an opportunity to purchase salt, embark on an easy 45-60 minute hike down to the Sacred Valley floor along a trail once used by the Incas to transport salt to Machu Picchu. Upon crossing the Sacred Urubamba River, a car will be waiting to take you to Yanahuara, where you will visit and tour a local organic farm. Taste unique Peruvian fruits and vegetables, learn about chicha, and cut alfalfa to feed the guinea pigs. Next, head to Urubamba for lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to a non-touristic market where you will see locals selling fruits, flowers, vegetables, and medicinal plants. Finally, visit the studio of the renowned potter, Pablo Seminario, before being taken back to your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley.
