Day 1

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - Pick-up and transfer to Nauta city.

The journey will commence with a navigation along the Marañón River, one of the main tributaries of the world’s largest river. Travelers will board traditional boats that are both comfortable and safe. This 3-hour journey offers a stunning view of the river’s grandeur as it winds through the lush jungle. Along the way, there is a chance to spot pink and grey dolphins, known as “bufeos,” and various bird species.

Upon arrival at the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, there will be a stop to collect entry passes for the reserve.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - BASE CAMP: BUENOS AIRES Upon reaching the camp, guests will receive a brief overview of the sustainability rules that govern the camp and its surroundings, enhancing their stay in the NATIONAL RESERVE.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - NIGHT EXCURSION: A journey through the dense jungle to observe various species of insects, tarantulas, frogs, scorpions, monkeys, and nocturnal birds.

Day 2

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - AMAZONIAN SUNRISE: Birdwatching and sunrise observation. Early morning is the perfect time to see many bird species feeding along the riverbanks and to witness the breathtaking sunrise that heralds a new day in the national reserve.

WILDLIFE SEARCH

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - PIRANHA FISHING: The Artisanal Fishing tour begins, where the guide will demonstrate local techniques for catching piranhas or other species using materials that jungle inhabitants use for subsistence. (Guests can taste their catch.)

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - SWIM IN THE MARAÑÓN RIVER: After enjoying the rich wildlife, guests will head to the refreshing waters of the Marañón River to swim near the pink dolphins.

• Lunch.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - BOTANICAL WALK: A walk to discover the main medicinal trees and plants in the Amazon, many with healing properties and others with mystical attributes. The guide will explain each one along the way.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - WILDLIFE SIGHTING: On the journey, more diverse wildlife will be observed, including macaws, paucares, kingfishers, and other bird species of the reserve.

• Dinner.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - NIGHT NAVIGATION: Canoe navigation on the Pucate River to search for caimans, learning about their role in nature. Fireflies will be seen, and the nocturnal sounds of the Amazon jungle will be enjoyed.

• Overnight stay at the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

Day 3

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - Breakfast.

• Return to the base camp in the “Buenos Aires” community.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - CRAFT FAIR: Attend a brief craft fair.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - Lunch.

• Return to Nauta town and back to Iquitos.

Iquitos - Return to Nauta town and then to Iquitos.
