- Cusco - The tour kicks off with a hotel pickup between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m. Once everyone is gathered, the tour will commence. The group will travel for about three hours in a tourist vehicle to the town of Santa Lucia. Along the way, there will be a stop in Cusipata to savor a delightful breakfast before continuing the journey.
- Santa Lucía - From Santa Lucia, a detour will lead the group, in approximately 15 minutes, along a winding road to the location known as Punta Carretera. Here, a brief 10-minute pause will be taken to prepare and finalize details before embarking on the hike to the Waqrapukara archaeological complex.
With everything set, the hike towards Waqrapukara will begin. This will be a 90-minute trek along ancient paths and landscapes that appear to be straight out of a dream. Throughout the 2.5 kilometers, the energy of the Andes will accompany every step.
- Complejo Arqueologico Waqrapukara - Waqrapukara, also referred to as the Horn Fortress, is an archaeological treasure of Cusco situated above the majestic canyon of the Apurimac River. This Inca site features platforms, ceremonial squares, and stunning rock formations that create a one-of-a-kind landscape.
Despite its allure and mystery, Waqrapukara remains a destination seldom explored by travelers. Its name is derived from Quechua — “Waqra” (horn) and “Pukara” (fortress) — and reflects its sacred and defensive nature.
Constructed by the ancient Qanchis and later integrated into the Inca Empire, Waqrapukara was designated a National Cultural Heritage Site by the Ministry of Culture of Peru in 2017.
- Cusipata - After exploring Waqrapukara, the group will return along the same path to Punta Carretera, where transportation will be ready to take them back to Cusipata. In this charming village, a semi-buffet lunch featuring Andean delicacies will be enjoyed. The journey will then continue to the city of Cusco.
- Cusco - Following lunch and a brief rest, the return to the city of Cusco will take place, with an estimated arrival at 18:00 (service concludes one block from the Plaza de Armas del Cusco).
