Sylvia, the excellent guide to Perugia - We had a wonderful food tour of Perugia! Our guide today, Sylvia, was extremely accommodating. She took us to all the sites on the itinerary, and gave us tips on other sites to visit during our stay in Perugia with a hand-annotated maps. We know our stay in Perugia will be enhanced by having had this food tour with Sylvia.

Porchetta, Pasta, Cinghiale, Chocolate: The perfect gastronomic afternoon - A great opportunity to sample some shops we would never have found on our own. Giorgia was a great host and we enjoyed all the Perugian favorites: porchetta, prosciutto, pecorino, pasta, cinghiale, and chocolate. A lovely afternoon.

A relaxed, fun and tasty way to learn about Perugia. - Loved our experience with our guide Giorgia (born and raised in Italy with perfect English). There was no category for our group- we were 6 family members ranging in age from 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and an 81 year old. It was great to get the history of the food we were eating and their Perugian origins. Be prepared to eat! If I had to do it again I’d pack extra napkins and wet wipes in my bag along with some ziplock bags to easily pack our leftover food in (sometimes it could be a tad messy). It was fun on our first stop to learn the history about this delicious porchetta sandwich that originated with this food vendor (Pace yourself. We ate half and saved the rest for later). Our second stop could be difficult if you have people in your group who are young, old or have any physical challenges with a need to sit (there are just a couple of bar stools made available and it can be a bit awkward to hold food and drink etc). The sandwiches here feature artisan cold cuts and we enjoyed Giorgia’s recommendations. Our third stop was a beautiful sit down lunch. Every dish ordered was a 10 out of 10! And our final stop was a great lesson and tasting on the history of Perugina chocolate and Baci. Grazie!

Our Best Food Tour Yet! - Come hungry! We make a habit of doing a food tour of every country we visit and this was the absolute best! The food in Umbria is amazing but what made this tour so enjoyable was our guide. Georgia is an absolute delight and we highly recommend using her company Do Eat Better Perugia. The food we had was authentic Perugia and there was so much of it! Georgia is very well informed and very professional. It was just my wife, myself and Georgia on the tour and it felt like we were dining around with a good friend. We highly recommend this company and if you go with them, ask for Georgia. You will be totally impressed.

Loved Perugia - The food tour was exceptional. The food was amazing. Our tour guide Giorgia went above and beyond. She was knowledgeable about Perugia and passionate about the food and culture. Since there was so much food in 2 1/2 hours I would suggest either trying less food in the allotted time for a lesser fee or extending the the tour time so you’re not eating every 15 min. We did our best to eat it all and took some home. All in all it was excellent.

Lots of good food— you will eat light that night - This was a great sampling of local food, and our guide Giorgia was very informative and fun to tour with. The meat and cheese plate was yummy and so were the porcetta sandwiches. Do it early in your visit, if possible, so you have time to follow up with favorite places though we did it on our last day and it was still great.

A delightful, delicious afternoon - Georgia, our tour guide, met us at the Piazza Italia. Immediately, my husband and I knew we were going to have a wonderful time. Our first stop was the porchetteria where the chef displays his roasted pig, and we get to choose how to eat it! We chose a sandwich and Georgia took us to a beautiful overlook to enjoy both the food and the view. Next, we went to a place that specializes in cold cuts. Georgia ordered a tasting plate and wine, and we were delighted to try different delicious, fresh, and tender, cuts of meats, cheese, and dried tomatoes. Our third stop was a chocolate store that was beautiful inside. We ordered samples of chocolate and learned the story of the Vanucci family. The chocolates were delicious. Time for lunch! At a lovely trattoria, we enjoyed two pasta dishes and some wine. All was wonderful. The waiters, especially Franchesco, were very attentive and friendly. Everyone knows Georgia so it was easy to start conversations with the staff. Our finial stop of this excellent tour was a Pasticceria where we enjoyed Cafe Americano and Tiramisu. It was great to have a personal guide on this Traditional Food Tour because as we ate at the different venues and walked through the streets of Perugia, we had the opportunity to ask questions and learn a lot about the town, the customs, and the people. Georgia was an excellent tour guide. She was knowledgeable about Perugia, the food, and the people. Georgia was patient and listened to all our stories. We went from venue to venue and never felt rushed, just full! Needless to say, we didn't eat dinner. This tour is highly recommended. There are so many choices of places to eat in Perugia. With Georgia's guidance, we experienced wonderful samples of delicious Perugian food.
