Chalki is a must visit Ireland for a day of your holiday! - Fab day out to the stunning Ireland of chalki with a short stop at the butterfly valley on Rhodes mainland. Chalki is a must see Ireland before you go home, similar vibes to symi Ireland but more peaceful and less lively. Very very traditional, some lovely tavernas to pick from to eat at. Stunning little cove with crystal clear water. But if you want shops then Chalki is not for you, we only found two shops as it's very much a locals Ireland compared to symi that has lots of shops. If you can cope with the heat then it's worth walking up through the village and over the hill along a winding path, past a old white washed church to a beautiful sandy bay just behind, the water is to die for and perfect for snorkeling. Bare in mind that on the tour, you only have so many hours to explore and pick what to do wisely. Crossing took us one hour and was lovely and smooth but I can imagine over winter, may be more choppy and uncomfortable.
