Sheltered amidst the mountains, flanked by Bucegi on one side and Piatra Craiului Mountains on the other, linger these villages steeped in a tranquil, timeless pulse that instills serenity and transports you to a charming bygone era. Everywhere you gaze, you’ll find yourself in a reverie, with Magura and Pestera villages standing as two of the country’s most remarkable hamlets. Here, you’ll encounter ageless traditional homes and the region’s quintessential rural life. You’ll find harmony in the intersections between man-made craftsmanship and the best that nature presents. Expect traditional villages, still largely untouched by modernity, ready for you to explore.

Our journey starts at 8:30 A.M. from your lodging in Brasov. The drive to the mountain village of Pestera, where our hiking journey commences, will take approximately 1 hour. The hike encompassing breaks will span around 5-6 hours. We plan to return to Brasov by 4-5 P.M.

• Mandatory gear: hiking boots and clothes that suit the outside weather, backpack, 2L of water, rain coat, small snack.
• Recommended gear: hat, sun cream, ticks spray, hiking sticks.
• Easy 8 to 12 km trail, 400-500m elevation height, total 5 to 6 hours hike on wide pats with no exposure or dangerous cliffs. This trip is suitable to families or any other groups of people that can walk on various terrain for half a day.
