Fantastic tour of the old prison! - We found the tour to be very formative and the guided headsets were a great touch. You have done a great job setting this up to explain about the prisons past, the riots and some of the prisoners held here. Being told story's from some of the guards was a fantastic touch and made it a more moving visit for sure. The cafe was lovely and has a beautiful view over the harbour to finish the day off. The lifeboat exhibit and the railway carriages were also a great touch to add extra information about the jail and the area. Highly recommend a visit.

Take your time! - Very easy to book online so thats a good start! Arriving at the Museum we were met by a lovely friendly lady who pointed us in the direction of the Admission Office. Another friendly lady then fitted us out with our headsets and instructions on how to use it, and off we went. There is no hurry to wander through the Prison tour, you can stop at any time and take in the ambience and imagine how life would have been. The information provided on the headset was first class. To finish off the tour, take the time to visit the cafe who provide lovely sandwiches at a very reasonable price.
