An Amazing Experience Of Wine Pairing And Delicious Food - We have traveled the world tasting wines and eating fine foods. But, our experience on this tour was one of the best ever. We journeyed to Titakis Winery and were greeted by Eleni, our private sommelier. We first toured the wine facility and cellars. Then on to an absolutely scrumptious five course lunch with five wine pairings. Eleni knows her stuff. The wines, four whites and one red, were all excellent to superb. Crete, in our opinion, has the best wines in Greece by far and some of the friendliest people. We also met one of the owners who is a fun lady and very gracious. I can’t recommend this tour enough. Make sure to book the lunch pairings with the private sommelier. You won’t regret it.

More than just a wine tour - We originally booked this as 4 hours but Alex at the tour talked us into a bit more as our ship came in almost an hour from the wine tasting as it was. So we did a tour of the Olive Oil location and some tasting the wine tour, went to a great local village for lunch that was fantastic. Then our driver Tony gave us a choice to the Museum or to Monastery as a last stop. it was great we got to meet local folks spend time with them which is what we want on vacation to help understand the culture and them us. The wine tour Titakis Wines- they have some good ones but after 5 to 7 glasses I was ready to order 2 cases- LOL. This is a must do- the team did great they communicated via what app, we felt safe and they really wanted us to see their island.

Picturesque day trip. - Really nice experience. Transfer in pleasant vehicle with interesting driver. The winery was picturesque with the mountains in the background and clean and well presented interior. The wines were very nice but wouldn’t have minded larger tasting servings. The lunch was delicious, plentiful and the seating overlooking the estate was perfect. Highly recommended excursion!

Lovely relaxing day off ship! 10/10 - Our cruise ship stopped in Crete for the day and after having a busy “touristy day” the day before this wine tour & tasting AND lunch was lovely. It was leisurely & relaxing. We did the tour + wine tasting and it was excellent. The tour was very detailed and although we only sampled 4 wines, after asking to sample a few more they were very accommodating. Also I’m the only vegan in our family and they made amazing options to please us all. In fact the food was a 3 course meal with TONS of options to sample traditional (and healthy) Turkish foods. We also bought a bottle then Sat & enjoyed it as well. The winery was about 20-25 minutes from the cruise ship port and easy to get to/ from. Our driver even stopped off at a local church on the way for a few pictures. If your from US and done Napa tastings this was 10/10 on presentation, 10/10 for view of rolling hills, valleys & vineyards, 11/10 on food and 8-9/10 on wines (clearly preference is variable). It was so interesting learning about & tasting different wines. Highly Recommend!

Alex and Lyrarakis made for a great afternoon - Alex was a wonderful tour guide and insured a great experience was had by all. Knowledgeable about Greek history and culture in the wine and olive oil, industries, safe driver, and we had a pleasant drive to the winery and return to Central Heraklion. The Lyrarakis wines are distinctive and we enjoyed reds and whites from native grape varieties. Lunch was delicious with great traditional selections. Highly recommended.

Wine & Lunch - Engaging conversation with our driver Yannis. Transfer, wine and lunch worked smoothly. We also requested to be dropped off at the Knossos and it was accommodated no problem.

Wine Tasting and Food Pairing - We visited Titakis Wines. We had 5 wine tastings with food pairings, which were all excellent, and also a tour of the facilities. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the staff at the winery were great. We enjoyed the wine so much we purchased 3 bottles of wine to take home 😀 The driver arrived at our hotel on time and was nice. However, we were surprised when the driver dropped us off at our hotel after only visiting 1 winery when the package we purchased included visits to 2 wineries (the tour operator was LocalTrips4U). The driver contacted the operator but was told that our visit only included 1 winery (which is not what we purchased). Overall, we had a nice time, but would not have purchased this if it was only for 1 winery, due to the price (216 euro for 2 people). I see the operator has updated the description on the website now. However, when we booked it on TripAdvisor, it clearly stated 2 winery visits in the itinerary.

Not A Fan of the Wine - Loved the food not so much the wine. We were a party of 4. The tour of the winery was nice and very informational. Learned a lot about how they operate and I thought that was cool. We can for 2 birthdays and to have a cool day while on Crete. We really enjoyed the food. The freshness was great. However the 3 stars is because none of us enjoyed any of the wine. They were just not enjoyable so it felt like a waste.

Pricey for what you get - Beautiful location, decent food, nice wine. My rating reflects the value of the experience. Felt it was quite pricey for what we received. Driver was great. We paid $142 per person for a shared plate lunch and a tasting of five wines (2 red, 2 whites, and one sparkling). No offer of coffee or dessert. You may be better off going directly there on your own and getting a similar experience with one of the packages the winery offers at half the cost.
