Here you can experience the hectic daily life of the hospitable local people.
- Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon - 10:40 am, We will drive to the Notre Dame Cathedral, where you can visit the cathedral. The Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon was built in 1880 as a sacred place belonging to French colonizers. The Notre-Dame Cathedral of Saigon is located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City. The cathedral is another landmark of the city and was built in 1883. The two bell towers are 58 meters high and the cathedral was built with materials from France, which were imported especially for that. In 1962 the cathedral was officially declared a Basilica by the Pope and since then it has been named Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Today it is not only a church, but also a major tourist attraction.
- Central Post Office - Next, you will witness the Saigon Central Post Office. It is also called Old Post Office, completed in 1891. It is an example of French architecture, with arched windows, wooden shutters, and a grand clock face on the front interior. Visitors can send postcards and admire the ornate interior of this working post office.
- Reunification Palace. Hcmc. Vietnam - Walking further, you will face the Reunification Palace (or Independence Palace). The Reunification Palace, also known as Independence Palace, is today not only a museum, but there are still meetings and events held by the government. It’s also the place where the end of the Vietnam War was decided. The palace is one of the most visited sights in Ho Chi Minh City. On the inside you can take a look at many rooms with the original furniture like chairs or tables. The basement with some control rooms etc. is also worth seeing.
- War Remnants Museum - 12:30 pm: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant serving delicious Vietnamese food. 13:30 pm: after lunch, we will continue on the tour and visit the War Remnant Museum. The War Remnants Museum shows the wars in which Vietnam was involved in the recent past. Special attention is given to the war with the Americans, where also weapons of mass destruction like napalm were used. For those who are interested in this subject, it is definitely worth a visit. Furthermore, you can see several vehicles like tanks or jets in front of the building, which were used during the war.
- Ben Thanh Market - By 2:30 pm: We will head to the Ben Thanh Market, the largest and most beautiful market in the city. Enjoy shopping for an hour at Ben Thanh Market before we drive back to the port. The Ben Thanh Market is one of the famous landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City. Every day thousands of visitors come to the market to stroll around and buy something. You can almost buy everything over here. Clothes, jewelry, souvenirs, food or the popular Vietnamese coffee. Don’t forget to bargain about the prices. After Ben Thanh Market, guests will get on private car go back to the port. You will arrive at the port after an hour and a half before the departure time of the ship. The tour ends at the port.
