Lukla trek to Phakding

Lukla trek to Phakding
Phakding - Our guide will pick you up from the airport, and your journey to Phakding begins by following the Dudh Koshi river and crossing a suspension bridge. Along the trail, you’ll encounter chortens, mani stones, and prayer flags.
On this first day’s trek, you’ll start to see beautiful mountains like Karyolung, Nupla, and Gongla. You’ll take breaks at several stops for tea or lunch. You’ll spend the night in Phakding.
Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Namche Bazaar - On the second day, after a hot breakfast, you’ll head toward one of the biggest rest areas, Namche Bazaar.
The trail involves high climbs and steep steps through stunning forests, crossing rivers via swaying suspension bridges.
After a long day’s hike and reaching Namche Bazaar, you’ll fall in love with the sight of golden mountains at sunset. Trust me, the view will be breathtaking! You’ll forget all your tiredness. You’ll spend the night in Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
Tengboche - The third day of the trek begins with another early start (around 6 am) through narrow trails. Along the way, you’ll stop at several places to get outstanding views of Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Everest, Mt. Tabuchi, and Mt. Thamserku.
After a few hours of walking, the trail takes you to the hilltop village of Tengboche via a rhododendron forested area.
Tengboche is famous for the largest monastery in the Khumbu region, the Tengboche Monastery.
Trek to Dingboche
Dingboche - On the fourth day, the trek begins with a descent through rhododendron forests and then gradual steep climbs. After climbing countless mani stones, you’ll first reach Pangboche.
Again, the trail ascends past Shomare and Orsho to Dingboche, where you’ll spend the night.
Dingboche is known for being a summer settlement for yak grazing. On the way to Dingboche, you’ll see many yaks grazing on the slopes of cliffs. The amazing views of mountains like Lhotse, Amadablam, and Taboche will exceed your expectations.
Trek to Lobuche
Lobuche - On the fifth day, the trail leads with a slight upward climb, and you’ll walk into a grassland area.
After crossing the suspension bridge to Thukla, a steep hike will take you to the Lobuche pass. You’ll see different colorful prayer flags, Khagan Chorten, and a cemetery ground with hundreds of cairn memorials for those who died on the mountain.
Besides, Lobuche offers some breathtaking views of mountains. There is also a high-altitude research center that can assist with communication for rescue operations.
Trek to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp
Everest Base Camp - On the sixth day, you’ll finally reach the base camp, which will definitely make you proud and excited to be near the top of the world.
Your dream of being on top of the world will be fulfilled!
Today’s trail will be a smooth up and down. After a hot breakfast, you’ll first head towards Gorak Shep over wide trails with views of the Khumbu glacier and mountains.
After reaching Gorak Shep and taking some rest, you’ll head to Everest Base Camp, the main attraction of this trek.
The major highlight of the day is the many mountain views, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Khumbutse, and Mt. Lingtren.
After enjoying some beautiful moments at Everest Base Camp, you’ll return to Gorak Shep for the night.
Trek to Kala Patthar and back to Pheriche
Pheriche - On the seventh day, early in the morning, you’ll hike up to Kala Patthar. From Kala Patthar, the 360-degree panoramic mountain view along with the Khumbu Glacier will look amazing.
After reaching the Kala Patthar viewpoint, your breath will be truly taken away!
You’ll see Mt. Everest up close and personal.
Once you’re done relishing the mountains, you’ll trek back to Gorak Shep and then descend to Pheriche. Pheriche is another beautiful valley surrounded by rocky hills and mountains. You’ll spend the night in Pheriche.
Trek to Namche Bazaar
Namche Bazaar - On the eighth day, you’ll trek back to Namche Bazaar. Again, by following the Dudh Koshi river, you will encounter the tree line and return through the same trail. You’ll stop at different places for tea and lunch breaks.
You’ll again cross the suspension bridge and pass through rhododendron and pine forests. Here, you’ll get perfect scenery of breathtaking mountain vistas. The trail continues past different mani stones, chortens, and stupas. Then, you’ll reach Namche Bazaar and spend the rest of the night.
Trek back to Lukla
Lukla - On the ninth day of your trek, you’ll head back down to the small airstrip at Lukla, where you’ll catch your flight back to Kathmandu. The trail continues along the Dudh Koshi river with flashbacks of the past 9 days of trekking.
After a long hike, likely 8 hours, you’ll reach Lukla. Once you reach Lukla, you can celebrate your achievement and cherish your amazing journey. Spend the night in Lukla, tour end.
