Acclimatize at Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar - Today, you can either rest or hike through the villages of Khunde and Khumjung. Khumjung is the largest village in the Khumbu region. After lunch, you’ll hike back to Namche Bazaar.
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Thame Village (3825m)
Trek from Thame to Lungden (4500m)
Khumbu - After breakfast, the trail leads you to Lungden village, the only settlement before crossing the Renjo La pass. Continue your journey to Lungden village, sharing the trail with Tibetan Yak caravans as it is a trading route from Namche to Tibet.
Trek from Lungden to Gokyo Lakes via Renjo La Pass (4500m)
Gokyo Lakes - After a hearty breakfast in Lungden, the trail leads to Renjo La pass, one of the easier passes in the Khumbu Himalaya compared to Chola and Congmala. The trail is zigzag with sandy ridges, leading you to Gokyo Lakes for an overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Explore the Gokyo Lake.
Trek from Gokyo Lakes to Dzongla (5414m)
Trek from Dzongla to Lobuche (4990m)
Lobuche - After breakfast, you’ll start your trek to Lobuche. Along the way, you’ll see Dzongla Lake, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku.
Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5180m)
Gorakshep - Following the rocky moraine path, you’ll see icy glacial ponds and icebergs below the Khumbu glacier. A short downhill walk after the last rocky moraine dunes brings you to Gorakshep, located below Kalapathhar (5545m) and Mt. Pumori.
Trek from Gorakshep to Lobuche (4930)
Khumjung - If you wish to visit Everest Base Camp (5380m), it will take 6-7 hours round trip from Gorakshep. In April/May, you’ll see many tents due to the climbing season. In other months, there’s not much to see except the Khumbu Icefall. If you only have energy for a side trip, it’s better to climb Kalapathhar. Another two-hour walk downhill to Lobuche (4900m) will save energy for the next day’s crossing of the Congmala pass.
Trek from Lobuche to Dingboche via Congmala Pass 5540m
Dingboche - After a hearty breakfast in Lobuche, the trail turns slightly to the Khumbu Glacier to cross the Congmala pass and then follows a downhill path to the Sherpa village of Dingboche. Today’s trek will take about eight to nine hours to reach Dingboche.
Trek from Dingboche to Tengboche (3890)
Tengboche - After breakfast in Dingboche, the trail leads you through villages, Buddhist monasteries, bridges, waterfalls, and Rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche (3890m) via Orsho, Somare, Pangboche, and Debouche.
Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar
Namche Bazaar - The first part of the trail goes through Rhododendron and pine forests to Fungethaga. The trail then ascends slightly to Namche via Trashing and Sanasa village, offering great views of the Khumbu Himalaya from Sanasa.
Trek from Namche to Lukla
Lukla - The trail descends steeply through Rhododendron and pine forests to Jorasalle, taking about two hours, followed by another five-hour walk to Lukla via Monju, Banker, Phakding, Ghats Khola, Chaurikharka, and Chheplung. The trek ends upon arrival in Lukla.
