Great way to see Philly - The **City Sightseeing Philadelphia Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour** is an excellent way to experience the best of the city, especially if you're limited on time or looking for a great first-day activity. The tour provides a fantastic overview of Philadelphia’s major historical landmarks and neighborhoods, offering convenience and flexibility. I loved how the bus route covered all the must-see sights, including the **Liberty Bell**, **Independence Hall**, and the **Philadelphia Museum of Art** with its famous Rocky Steps. There were stops near other iconic locations too, like **Penn’s Landing**, **Reading Terminal Market**, and **Elfreth’s Alley**, which made it easy to hop off and explore more deeply at your own pace. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing engaging stories about the city’s rich history and pointing out lesser-known facts about each landmark we passed. Their enthusiasm and insight made the tour not only informative but also enjoyable, keeping us entertained throughout the ride. If it’s your first day in Philly or you only have one day to explore, this tour is ideal. It gives you a solid introduction to the city, and by the end, you’ll have a good sense of where you want to spend more time. The ability to hop on and off at your leisure makes it convenient to customize the tour to your interests. Highly recommended for any first-time visitor!

Highly recommend! - A friend recommended we book this tour as just my teen daughter and I were sightseeing Philadelphia for the day. It was a fantastic way to get the layout of the city, see the highlights and get exceptional information and history. The hop on/hop off was perfect. The tour guide, who was extremely knowledgeable, announced which stops were coming up so we knew if it was one to hop off and see. For us, the art museum was a must, so we spent two hours there, then waited about 10 minutes for the bus, got back on and continued the tour. I am so glad we booked!

Philly HopOn HopOff - We do HopOnHopOff tours in all the major cities. Our guide John was hilarious, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Even though his microphone cord did not work properly, he made light of it and kept on going. I would have thrown the stupid thing over the side of the bus! The city is beautiful and loved relearning the history. Chris the bus driver is a real pro. Maneuvering the small one way streets and traffic was amazing. We definitely would recommend this excursion.

Great Way to Scope Out the City and Get to the Sights - This was a great tour! We did the two-day hop-on, hop-off and it worked great for us. The first morning we stayed on the bus for the whole 90-minute tour, then hopped off for lunch and got on again after to explore the area around the Betsy Ross House (Christ Church, Ben Franklin's Resting Place, Elfreth's Alley). Then we hopped on to get back to the area near our hotel. The second day, we hopped on near our hotel and took the bus to the Franklin Institute, spent the day there, and took the bus back to the Reading Terminal Market for a late afternoon snack. If we had it to do over, we should have done the three-day, and we could have gone to the Penitentiary and maybe the art museum. All of our guides and drivers were great, and everyone was really friendly, from the ticket sales person on up! Highly recommend!

Worth it - This was worth the price. I suggest you go around once, cause you can ride it all day. Once you’ve seen everything by bus, get off, walk around and hop on again.

Mixed feelings - I usually like to take bus tours in a new city but this time , I found the tour guides to be wildly different in terms of knowledge of the sights we were shown. First tour guide of the day was fabulous and shared many historical facts and interesting details of the places we passed. Second tour guide was a young female who offered nothing of value other than “watch your head for trees”. All she did was point out the places we passed (which we could have done by looking in a map. ) She offered no historical information about the buildings we passed (What were they for, when were they built, what type of architecture are they etc.) Total waste of time. Beware.

The Tour Guide Matters - They Are Not Equally Qualified - We have been on bus tours in many countries including the US, and the first half of the tour in Philadelphia this week was the worst possible experience. We got off at one of the stops when we couldn't take it any longer and waited for another bus with another guide to come along. (The second guide, Sebastian, was knowledgeable and kept us engaged throughout the trip.) The first guide appeared to be impacted by a substance because they made no sense in anything they said, As we drove through one of the most historic streets in America with homes built in the 1700s and the first public hospital in America, our guide rambled about how horrible Belgian brick streets were and they should be covered in blacktop, their hair was a mess that day and proceeded to take off their hat to show us, New Jersey is an awful place and no one should ever go there, they were too hot and the bus company should do something about it, the Philly police ticketed cars for no reason, they were an expert gamer, and this stream of consciousness/babble continued non-stop. It appears that this guide was not certified and should never have been allowed to lead a group on this tour. The first part of the tour with the rambler would be rated TERRIBLE while the second part of the tour with Sebastian would be rated EXCELLENT. Kudos to the drivers of both buses who navigated through crowded narrow streets.

Could have been better - Nice trip. Not much to be seen at the drop off points. Being from Ireland it was so disappointing that there was no stop point or mention of the Irish r Scottish memorial from famine time. When we found it we remembered passing the bridge adjacent to the memorial but no mention by the tour guide. No stop at the liberty bell either.
