Anniversary trip to Philly! - Excellent museum that really covers everything having to do with the American Revolution!
General George Washington’s tent was especially interesting.

Nice Presentation! - I visited and opted for an audio guide, which served as a great source of historical information. The museum has many great exhibitions that were crafted with great detail and interesting facts. I learned a lot about what life was like for various groups of people living in America. I also loved the details provided pertaining to the causes of the revolution, the battles, and the aftermath. This museum was put together very nicely! In addition, the museum also has a gift shop, coffee shop, and restrooms.

Excellent museum with great details to learn so much. - Amazing detailed history of the American Revolution with incredible relics from that time. The split between reading and videos and presentations is well do e. Loved learning the detailed timeline of the history. Appreciated the free second day.

Spacious, informative museum - My daughter (age 15) and I visited the museum on Saturday, June 15th. The museum is large, spacious, and located in a beautiful building. They have many informative displays with detailed descriptions. The museum also has a food deal of information about New Jersey’s part in the Revolutionary War, which intrigued me because I grew up in New Jersey. We spent about 90 minutes there, and I did not read every sign at the exhibits. My daughter got bored after a while, so I would say this museum is more for adults unless your older child or teen has a real interest in history. The staff members we interacted with were friendly. There is also a nice gift shop and a cafe. I had passed to the museum from the Visit Philly overnight package (I paid a little more for my hotel stay to include this perk). Overall I highly recommend the museum to anyone who is interested in history or wants to learn more about the war.

Great experience - The museum was amazing! We spent over 4 hours there - having a two day ticket was great! The exhibits were beautifully displayed. We learned some things we didn’t know and also gained new insights and perspectives about the American Revelution. Overall, it was a great experience.

To see - Well-structured museum, with interactive videos and rooms with projections that well trace the history of American independence.
Videos and descriptions are in English only , there is no possibility of multilingual guides.
Nice theater rooms with costumed performances.

Great museum - The museum is very interactive with beautiful graphics and illustrations, 3-D models were spot-on. I will say it completely left out the Gaspee affair in Warwick RI which was the first shot at a captain of a British ship, the colonists burned the ship during the night. Which enraged the King, no one in Rhode Island gave the colonists away… this happened before the Boston Tea Party. I can’t imagine a Rhode Islander visiting being super happy about that.

Revisionist History at its finest - The museum is nice and clean. Staff are very friendly. It flows nicely, but its mostly picture boards explaining the history. Not loads of actual artifacts with the exception of Washington's tent (which is incredible).
What I take issue with is the skewed or revisionist way the history is laid out. Many historical details and facts are conveniently left out.
I actually left thinking that this war was a huge waste of time. A bunch of rich slave owners didn't want to pay their taxes..... they left the british empire.
Canada stayed with the British empire, we abolished slavery decades before the American's, implemented Women's rights, Women's voting, Gay rights, etc... way way before the American's. What did this war accomplish? Also, King George wasn't a bad person. He was a very decent man who became very sick and sadly went insane.
All of these details and many more are left out at this museum.
