Highlights
  • 1848 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy - Outside, in front of The Urban Farmer (Vehicle pull off spot along the Ben Franklin Parkway, side of the Logan Hotel)

  • Longwood Gardens - Longwood is Pennsylvania’s preeminent botanical garden boasting thousands of species of plants and a fascinating legacy of preservation. Horticultural staff provide knowledgeable background on the featured flora and work hard to create fantastic displays that change with the seasons.

  • Brandywine Valley - Your countryside tour will be spent exploring the lush landscape of southeastern Pennsylvania, an area home to historic mansions, unrivaled botanical gardens and estates, wineries, and more. You’ll be at ease in your private vehicle driven by a local tour guide, who will have plenty of recommendations for how to spend your day in the Brandywine Valley region.

  • Brandywine Battlefield - In addition to these attractions, the guide will be happy to provide a tour of the Brandywine Battlefield Historic Site — which brings to life the largest engagement of the Revolutionary War — or make suggestions for lunch (at your own expense). The guide is happy to make recommendations to best build a schedule, depending on the length of the tour.

  • Brandywine River Museum of Art - Your private tour can include a stop at this renowned museum containing artworks by nationally acclaimed and local artists like Andrew Wyeth. This gem of an art museum sits on the pristine banks of the Brandywine Creek.

  • Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library - Your private driving tour has the option to add admission to the estate of Winterthur. Here, you can explore a stunning mansion with exquisitely decorated rooms containing a variety of American art and walk about the finely landscaped grounds blooming with native and exotic plant species from Spring to Fall!

  • Hagley Museum - Arrange in advance entry to this charming historic house, the first du Pont home in the United States, with stone structures that once housed the family’s powder manufacturing facility.

  • Nemours Estate - Add in admission to this French neoclassical–style mansion to explore its rare and fabulous antiques and artifacts and jaw-dropping landscaped grounds. Arrange a museum tour in advance with our team.

  • Chaddsford Winery - This winery is among a number of others in the region and where you can arrange a wine tour and wine tasting to sample sparkling whites, rosés, red blends, and more.

  • Penns Woods Winery - A wine tour and tasting can absolutely be arranged for your private tour with us. Brandywine Valley is known for its wines, and you’ll likely be going home with your favorite(s) at the end of the tour!

  • Brandywine River Antiques Market - Your customized tour can include a stop at one of the area’s excellent antique shops, where you can get lost in the mix of textiles, glasswares, trinkets, and more. You’ll be sure to find a take-home souvenir from this popular antiques market!

  • Pennsbury-Chadds Ford Antique Mall - With its claim as the largest antique mall in historic Chester County, Pennsbury-Chadds Ford Antique Mall is just one of the shops we can build into your tour itinerary.

Additional Information

Longwood Gardens is considered to be one of the finest botanical gardens in the country, and for good reason. This sprawling former estate of the DuPont family boasts an endless collection of dazzling flowers, plants, and trees.

After your local tour guide picks you up in Philadelphia, you’ll quickly find yourself in the beautiful rolling hills of Brandywine Valley. Your tour guide will narrate the history of the Valley, from life in indigenous settlements to landmark battles of the American Revolutionary War.

We’ll then arrive at Longwood Gardens, a 1,077-acre estate bursting with color around every corner. Here, you’ll enjoy magical fountains spraying towers of water into the air with synchronized music, fantastic floral displays inside the main conservatory, and an impressive variety of native and exotic gardens.

Longwood Garden tickets are included in your private driving tour, but we’re happy to arrange admission to any of the top attractions and activities in the area!

Custom tour to Longwood Gardens and Brandywine Valley - The company arranged to pick up our group of garden club friends at our AirBnb as we checked out, then created a custom tour for us that concluded with an airport drop off. Full service! Laura was our delightful guide for the day. Laura was easy going and fit seamlessly into our group. We started the day with a ride out to Brandywine Valley. Along the way, Laura shared her knowledge of the history, industry, and political background of the area. We learned about the founding of the Pennsylvania colony and the City of Brotherly Love. She captivated our group with her strong command of all these subjects. We switched gears and enjoyed an incredible shopping and lunch visit to Terrain- recommended by WeVenture. We all loved it! Then we had a fantastic tour of Longwood Gardens. Laura deftly covered the botanical background, the DuPont family history, and the creation of the world famous gardens and conservatory. Breathtaking! On the way back to the city, she took us on a scenic route through the rolling hills. She shared fascinating details about the architecture, interiors, and owners of several significant homes in the area. Laura was the perfect tour guide! She gave us a day that was tailor made to our group. Highly recommend!

Breathtaking spectacular views - Laura was very knowledgeable and warm & friendly. Our little group was very cohesive all getting along together. I flew from Chicago to take this tour with my younger sister. And I’m grateful for this experience. The vastness of the gardens requires multiple trips. I will return for the tulips in May 2024.

Solo Tour - Laura was an exceptional guide, teaching me about the history of Philadelphia, the BrandyWine area and of course, Longwood gardens. Appreciate that the company gave me the tour despite being the only person who booked. And the gardens were beautiful.

Nice but not worth the money - It is a great place and has some nice plantings. We however have traveled to all 50 states and this is not even half the gorgeous places we have seen. I guess it is the big game in town here but try Butchart Gardens in Canada instead. (Victoria) Look at the pictures online.
