Ivy League!! - I have a class this semester called transportation and culture and the professor is very interested in elephants!! I told someone I’m friends with someone in the class that he’ll mention elephants at least once every class and he did a few times!! We had to go here for an assignment and look at artifacts for the class!! I went with two other people and we ran into two people from the class so we were five Temple students in a UPenn building!! It was free for college students and was way bigger than it looked from outside!! It was interesting and had a lot of old things!!

Hidden gem on Penn campus - I am at Penn and take guests here all the time. It is one of the best university museums in my opinion. Has an extensive Egyptian collection and the Chinese horses.

Great experience! - Fantastic museum! Beautiful. Interesting! Covers so many civilizations and time frames. If you’re interested in history like I am, 3 hours was Not enough time! Great experience!

Fascinating museum - This is a fascinating museum and the more I saw of it the more impressed I was. I started off in the Egyptian section and worked my way through the rest of the museum. I was so inspired by the museum that I spent much longer there than expected and therefore had to amend my plans for the rest of tge day.

Fascinating history - What a fascinating look into history. The Egypt exhibit was under renovation but still much of the exhibit was there. It covered so much and included things from prehistory to modern day. I really enjoyed the Asian exhibit, especially the Chinese lions.

Hidden Gem!!!! - This is a museum of antiquity and the collection is amazing and the museum is huge. Great for kids and adults. Little cafe inside. There is so much to see - so we picked one room to focus on and are definitely going back on our next trip to Philly. University parking is right next door. Beautiful garden in front. Wonderful. Hidden gem!

Awesome Place for History Lovers - Wife and kids brought me in for a Father’s Day gift. Never been here before despite a masters in history and growing up 6 miles away. Awesome museum. Lots to see and learn about ancient civilizations. Unfortunately, Egypt was being renovated. Would have been neat to see more about Northern Europe, sub-Saharan Africa and India. But overall, an awesome place to check out for history lovers.

I’ll try again - This museum is physically beautiful, but not user-friendly. Visiting for the first time on a Tuesday. No tours are available until the weekend. I missed the Daily Dig by 15 minutes. Bloomberg Connects is helpful. Egyptian gallery is closed. No clear understanding of how things are laid out and no map offered at check in. I’m sure with someone to interpret the museum or a guided tour it would be great. This might be a fantastic collection but how would anyone know? All visual signs are small and the interactive element is low-key. Frustrating. I’ll come back. Graduate student input in museum studies would be welcome in reinterpreting this collection.
