Authentic native and great! - It was a very great experience and the hostess is very warm. She informed us in advance exactly how to get to the meeting point and picked us up at the ferry port. Together we went first to the market where we bought the ingredients for the food. She answered all our questions about various foods and explained a lot to us. Afterwards we continued to their garden where we harvested the remaining ingredients. The tuktuk then went to the house where the cooking was done. At first we could make ourselves comfortable on the sofa with a drink while she and her family made some preparations. Then it was time to cook: we peeled, sliced, fried, mortared and explained a lot about the preparation method. The sometimes exhausting cooking work was rewarded with an excellent and more than sufficient meal. During the meal, the hostess told us a lot about her career and her family. After about 4.5h we were again taken by tuktuk to the ferry port where this beautiful evening ended. We were a group of only 4 people, which was very pleasant and harmonious.

A must do trip for an authentic cooking class - This was an amazing lesson, a trip in the ferry over was a really good experience and you get to see Phnom Penh from a very different prospective joining Kmere’s about their daily buisness We were joined at the ferry and taken on a trip round the market tasting the different herbs and coconut water. I’m vegan and so I was catered for with swapping out ingredients and we used Tofu, sweet potato and aubergine as the main ingredients instead of meat or fish We then went to the garden to get the herbs, vegetables and picked them We went to the house which is beautiful and cooked the meal from scratch learning about all the ingredients and how to use them to make sauces The main meal was served with all the family around a massive table We had Tofu Amok, salt and pepper Tofu with Shisho leaves and a smoked aubergine dip served with rice For afters we had a sweet potato and sugar desert. The food we had was delicious and authentic some of which I’ve not I’ve not tasted before

Just do it! - My partner and I went and had the best time ever! Soppa met us on the other side of the ferry jetty with cousin brother driving we headed to the garden and then to their house. It felt like cooking with family, because we were cooking with a Soppa and her family in their beautiful bungalow. She spoke amazing English and told all we needed to know as well as taking us to her garden and local market for fresh ingredients that haven’t been genetically modified or have any pesticides in them. We made a chicken and tofu amok which was full of flavour. We made it in the most traditional way possible, chopping the ingredients together, smashing everything together with a big mortar and pestle and then blended it all together before steaming it with the protein. There’s a little more to the process but you’ll have to book it to learn the intricacies. This cooking class suits smaller groups of people, we went as a couple and cooked with three other people in the kitchen. Soppa was an amazing teacher but honestly felt like a close friend by the end of the session. We sat and ate with everyone at the end before we were sent back to the ferry jetty. Very chill and wholesome vibes the whole time, one of my most favourite things I did in Cambodia. Also we made dessert, choose the potato option, trust me and Soppa.

Incredible cooking class! - The whole experience was incredible. Going to the local market to hand pick our ingredients for dinner (while also trying some tasty local snacks). The house was beautiful and it was so nice to meet her wonderful and kind family. Getting to make the dinner, from the place mats, grinding the spices and putting everything together made the already delicious meal even better. Overall and awesome experience that both my friend and I loved. One our best meals in Cambodia!

BOOK IT!!! - If you're looking for a great Phnom Penh experience, just book this. You can read the review if you want, but save yourself some time. Book the cooking class, eat the meal. Having done those, we wish we'd also stayed the night. 10/10. 5 Stars. Whatever your grading scale, this experience is a MUST. The hostess is gracious, fun and friendly. Her family are a pleasure to meet and help with the food preparation and cooking. Her home is gorgeous, with a beautiful entertaining area and a lawn my dad would be proud of. The cooking of the dishes is light-hearted, informative and entertaining. We were made to feel super welcome, and the food was sublime. Oh my God, it was good. 100% the best thing we have done in Phnom Penh.
