Wat Phnom is one of the most significant Buddhist temples in all of Cambodia, let alone Phnom Penh city. The 46-meter-high pagoda or place of worship dates back to the 14th century. It has a religious as well as a historic charm that visitors like to glimpse.
- Royal Palace - Following this, we will head to the Royal Palace of the city. The palace is about 150 years old. It was the former king Norodom who constructed it. At the palace, you can see some of the most gorgeous Khmer architecture techniques. You can see pagoda-style structures identical to the next-door Silver Pagoda.
- National Museum - Next, the guide will take you to the National Museum. This national pride is the last destination of the tour. Before hitting back to the hotel you’ll get to witness the well-preserved Khmer history, art from that period, and relics from old times. Wat Phnom and Champy Academy of Arts a must see - For my money Wat Penh and the Champy Academy of Arts was an absolute delight. The Wat is only a $1 and the Champy was $6 which is really a donation. The Champy is non profit for children from fringe areas in Phnom Penh. You get a tour of the painting and music classes and then the children perform dances and music. The show starts at 2 p.m. I would recommend for those who want to do something a bit different.
