• Royal Palace - The Royal Palace complex serves as the residence of the Cambodian royal family and stands as a national symbol. Our journey begins in the stunning royal gardens, adorned with tropical plants and sparkling spires. We then enter the Throne Hall, the venue for royal receptions and the coronation of the Cambodian king. Next, we visit the Napoleon III Pavilion, an iron structure gifted by the French emperor in the 19th century. Our tour continues to the Silver Pagoda, named for its floor covered with 5,000 silver tiles, each weighing 1kg. Inside, we find some of the nation’s most treasured artifacts, including a life-size gold Buddha encrusted with 9,584 diamonds, the largest of which weighs 25 carats.
• Independence Monument - Constructed in 1958 and inaugurated in 1962 during the Sangkum Reastr regime, the Independence Monument stands as a proud tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s welfare. The monument’s cool, tranquil atmosphere makes it a popular destination.
• Wat Phnom - Wat Phnom, a city symbol, is situated on one of the rare hills in this otherwise flat capital. The first pagoda was built in 1373 to house Buddha statues found in the Mekong River by a woman named Penh, giving the city its modern name, Phnom Penh, or Hill of Penh. Locals visit the shrine to pray for luck in love, life, employment, and exams, making it a lively and bustling place.
