Highlights
  • Choeung Ek Genocidal Center - We depart from your hotel with private transportation and drive to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, located about 16kms south of Phnom Penh. A very moving and confronting experience the Killing Fields were the final resting place for over 17,000 men, women, children and infants between 1975 and 1978. It is estimated the Khmer Rouge Regime took the lives of between 2 and 4 million Cambodians during their destructive and devastating time in control between 1975 and 1979. Your guide will provide you with a detailed tour of the fields.
  • Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum - We continue to Tuol Sleng Museum. In 1975 Tuol Svay Prey High School was taken over by Pol Pot’s security forces and turned into a prison known as Security Prison (S-21). It rapidly became the largest centre of detention and torture in the country. Prisoners were repeatedly tortured and coerced into naming family members and close associates, who were in turn arrested, brought to S21, tortured and eventually killed. Spend time discovering the harrowing truths of the prison.

Very important - It was a very sad, harrowing experience coming here and learning about the history of what happened. Perhaps ignorantly, I knew nothing of the tragic history of Cambodia so it felt important I come here to learn more.

Respectful Tour into Cambodia’s Genocide History - Given the subject matter of this tour we felt that our tour guide dealt with it extremely respectfully. His knowledge was superb as was his English. The whole tour was really moving and I would urge anyone visiting Cambodia to take this tour and not forgot what the Cambodia people went through.

Heartbreaking and informative experience - Our tour guide Smiley was wonderful and his English was superb. He was very knowledgeable and was able to help us understand the truly tragic events surrounding the Killing Fields and S21. While it is a very confronting experience, the tour provides a look into a history that is hard to fully appreciate when reading about it. Meeting the two remaining survivors of S21 was an honour we won’t forget.
