Your Mad Desert Trekking guide will meet you outside the Echo Canyon Trailhead building off E. McDonald Drive. Please note that the parking lot is sometimes full and you may have to wait for a parking spot. Uber and Lyft will drop off at the trailhead.

Amazing Camelback Hike with Mike - Mike was an incredible guide he made the hike fun and took extra time to ensure we got the best photos! Mike provided us with water and snacks and kept our spirits high along the entire hike!! We had a lovely experience

Camelback hike - solo - Excellent hike up Camelback with Liz! She came prepared with water, a backpack, and gloves for me to use…all much appreciated. She knew tons of facts and gave me some suggestions of things to do in the area based on our conversation during the hike. Very friendly and a great way to start the day! Highly recommend!!

Awesome Guided Hike of a Local Mountain - I took a guided tour with Mike Hopkins and had an exceptional experience. As a novice hiker with a slight fear of heights, he trememdoulsy helped me feel secure and confident in making it to the summit of the mountain. Although challenging, the breath-taking 360° view at the top was worth the grueling, steep scrambles and confrontation of fear. Mike was very patient and methodical with helping me navigate through scary stretches of the ascent. He was very knowledgable about the history of the region and its mountains, which provided an extra layer of intriguing context. In addition, he's a talented photogragher who provided great art direction for photo opps. Overall, it was like doing a demanding hike with a supportive college buddy with a gratifying conclusion once the excursion was completed. Thanks, Mike.

Amazing experience!!! - Our guide Curtis was amazing. It was nice having an experienced hiker to push us along the way all the way to the top of Camelback. Besides being an awesome guide, Curtis captured our climb and ultimately our successful climb to the top with pictures. Total “framers”!

Awesome trip - definitely on the bucket list and no.1 thing to do if visiting Phoenix - Amazing trip. Was due to be hiking at 11am but due to the extreme heat warning and closure from 9am, I hiked with Mike Hopkins at 06.30 and what a blessing that was. Considerably cooler and watching the sun rise over the red rack was stunning. I can see why this is a 5* rated activity. Definitely worth doing with a guide, esp if solo for safety and company if for no other reason. Mike was engaging, experienced and adapted the hike to my requirements (which turned out to be a nice fast paced scramble to the top!). Customer photos tell the story but you genuinely can’t beat seeing it for real and as the lighting changes, so does the scenery. Highly recommend doing this with Mad Desert Trekking.
