Fun day with Nate - This had to be the best guided tour I've ever experience. Despite the slightly longer ride, the ride was comfortable, Nate (Nathan) push it further by making sure we are enjoyed the trip and the ride with information and fun facts. He even though in geology quiz! Can't help to notice Nate super caring attitude towards the tour members especially if we needed any help. Definitely recommend this trip and of course our guide!

Bucket list day trip - I booked this tour the night before and it was worth every penny. Nathan (Nate) picked me up from the JW Marriott Desert Ridge at 7 sharp and there were 8 of us in the van: 3 couples and two singles (the van could accommodate 12). Nate was an enthusiastic guide with 20+ years of experience and it showed. He taught us about the geology of the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and all the places we passed on the drive. I was worried about a 3.5-hour drive each way but it flew by with his educational and sometimes personal anecdotes. He was always checking in and offering adjust the AC, to talk less/more, or change his content if we were not interested in certain topics or even possibly offended by scientific angle (we were not, but that was considerate). Once at the GC, we had 3 hours to ourselves to “hike” the gentle trail on the rim. My trail partner and I took incredible photos and ended this leisurely walk with a hearty lunch at the historic El Tovar Hotel (ok food but you’re mostly there for the history and big windows overlooking the canyon). Back on the van, Nate took us to downtown Sedona and Bell Rock, timing it perfectly with magic hour and the sunset, respectively. More incredible photographs! The drive back kept us on schedule for drop-offs so while it was a long day for me 7 am - 7 pm, I would do it again. Big thanks to our guide, Nate, for keeping it fun and interesting.

Epic, awesome and truly special - The Detours organisation was excellent, driver/guide Bruce was super informative and the Grand Canyon stops were truly epic. Lots of time to explore the trails, museum and just to walk the rim. Then lots of time to enjoy spectacular Sedona. Well timed rest stops made the long trip go much faster. Highly recommended.

Detours & Driver Mark H. are highly recommended!! - The Grand Canyon/Sedona trip was magnificent! I am William the Dodgers fan from L.A. and my driver, Mark H. is a Padres fan. Mark made our trip truly memorable and I was truly impressed with how Mark H. handled his job and his vehicle while keeping his passengers well informed and entertained. I grade Mark H. and Detours with an A+ because they earned my appreciation for a job well done. I absolutely love their tour and I highly recommend my driver Mark H.

Best way to visit the Grand Canyon and get a taste of Sedona! - The best way to visit the Grand Canyon and a taste of Sedona! Tracy, our guide was a wealthy of knowledge, wit, and thoughtfulness! Plan for a 12 hour day, this sounds daunting but it didn't seem that way at all! We could have used a little more time, actually. We traveled from Texas, first time in AZ therefore we wanted to be able to markoff the most famous to do but do other things. The drive from Peoria certainly would have been too much for me, in addition to having to figure out where to go, how, the best sights etc. Detours removed all the stress and hassle that comes with trip planning! You are picked up, for me at a nearby populated, safe shopping parking lot, then just ride, listen, learn, and enjoy! There were plenty of rest break stops, Tracy knew the best places for photos, and was clear on timing goal to ensure we maximized our time and trip. Everything was executed to perfection! The linewait to enter the Grand Canyon was short, we arrived at the Bright Angel Lodge in perfect time! We were seated and had a great lunch, (the double bacon cheeseburger is a winner), and when leaving saw a line to enter out the door!! Tracy, our guide took is through the valley to Sedona and to view the red rock formations, such as the awesome Bell Rock! I appreciate Tracy's willingness to respond to every question and his knowledge and experience was invaluable. This tour was well worth the price and if you have a guide with a pleasant attitude, excellent voice inflection, knowledgeable, considerate, with great driving skills, please tip accordingly! I could on and on but will stop here and let you know that a frugal parent of a 16 year teeanage son APPROVES this one.

Detours Grand Canyon Tour from Scottsdale - I agree with most of the other reviews that the van was uncomfortable, my view was terrible and it was very bumpy and cold. The stop in Sedona was not a tour of any kind but more of a drive through and very early lunch. (10am) We parked in a lot and were offered a 10% coupon to buy a sandwich for lunch at a specific shop to take back and eat it on the ride as we only had 30 min to see the town and 99% of stores were still closed at 10 am. My chicken sandwich wasn't cooked inside so I didn't end up eating it. The only other stops were gas stations then the Grand Canyon where the group was let off to explore. The return seemed endless with 1 gas station stop and a stop at a pie store. I gave this a 3 star due to the destination and our driver Aldo being very knowledgeable of the area but the ride itself was subpar and too long to be in a bumpy van all day without much time off of it due to the duration of the drive time to and from the canyon. If it was a larger bus and we had time to stop to eat something substantial it might have been better. I also agree with the others that it was difficult to stop at multiple destinations on the way back to drop off the various people who participated.
