- Historic City of Ayutthaya - Established in 1350, the Historic City of Ayutthaya was attacked and destroyed by the Burmese army in 1767, who burned it to the ground, forcing its inhabitants to leave. The city was never reconstructed in the same location and is now recognized as a vast archaeological site. Ayutthaya is an archaeological ruin, marked by the remains of tall prang (reliquary towers) and grand Buddhist monasteries, reflecting the city’s former size and architectural magnificence.
- Wat Phra Sri Sanphet - This temple is not only a significant historical site but has also long been regarded as the spiritual center for Thais. Wat Phra Sri Sanphet is a royal monastery, and thus no monks reside there. At its core, three adjacent Ceylonese (or bell-shaped) pagodas rest on rectangular platforms, believed to be the bases of royal residences during the Ayutthaya period.
- Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit - Phra Mongkhon Bophit is among the largest bronze Buddha images in Thailand, measuring approximately 9.5 meters across the lap and standing 12.5 meters tall (excluding the pedestal). The Buddha image is seated in the Subduing Mara position. Wat Mongkhon Bophit is an active temple compound, attracting many visitors and worshippers throughout the day.
- Wat Chaiwatthanaram - Constructed in 1630 by King Prasat Thong in honor of his mother, Wat Chai Wattanaram was designed as a replica of the Angkor temple. Its architectural style, influenced by the Angkor temple in Cambodia, features a large central prang (Khmer-style pagoda) surrounded by smaller prangs.
- Bang Pa In Palace - Bang Pa-In Palace is an ancient palace dating back to the Ayutthaya era. The Royal Palace at Bang Pa-In has a history that stretches back to the 17th century. The palace is divided into two zones: the inner zone, reserved for the royal family as a retreat, and the outer zone, open to the public and tourists. The palace’s architecture and art are truly masterpieces, with carvings on every wall, the main chamber floor adorned with Jay tiles painted with art, and the surrounding area decorated with Chinese furniture and ornaments.
