What exactly is bioluminescence you might ask! Well, this is the capacity of some creatures to emit light and can be found in numerous forms in the Phang Nga Bay area. One of the most noteworthy instances is the bioluminescent plankton present in the bay’s waters. These tiny organisms emit a bright blue-green light when disturbed, producing a captivating appearance in the water. The phenomenon is caused by chemical reactions within the plankton, which produce light as a by-product.

However, please be aware that the visibility of bioluminescent plankton can be influenced by various uncontrollable factors such as water conditions, weather, and other environmental variables. Fabulous day out seeing the islands - We had a fabulous trip with Dream and the team visiting James Bond island; sea kayaking around Hong island; and going through the cave to see the mangroves and mudskippers. We were fortunate to have good conditions for the bioluminescence which Dreams was careful to explain was not always the case. The dinner was typical Thai and extremely tasty. The restaurant even went out of their way to cater to my shellfish allergy which was very much appreciated. The speed boat was new and well maintained and the crew very competent. Water and soda was supplied and plentiful. Top tips: be prepared to take your shoes of before getting on and off the boat; bring your towel and swimming gear as there are a couple of opportunities to swim; bring a coverup/ tshirt to wear while eating dinner so as to respect the host’s culture; and be respectful of the tour guide. We had some obnoxious tourists who just made the trip a little less enjoyable than it could have been. All in all despite the bad tourists, we really enjoyed and would wholeheartedly recommend!

Beautiful Places - My brother amd I did this trip in Wet Season, and it was absolutely beautiful, the views, the beaches, the culture, there is so much. Our Tour Huides were phenomenal, the had great knowledge, kept us safe, and was always letting us know information. Thank you for the trip.

a perfect day - This was such an incredible experience! The guide Sun and his team were all lovely. Going through caves to see the mangroves was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced. James Bond Island was great, the cave canoeing was so cool and the canoer I had was wonderful! Dinner on the floating village was delicious and they made special vegan food for me and the bioluminescence was truly magical. It was a day I’m remember for the rest of my life! I truly can’t recommend this enough.

Shine bright like glitter even on a rainy day - Great experience, even with the rain for most of the day we had sooo much fun. Few, our guide, the captain and our engineer were all great. Seeing the islands was cool, different vibe than a bright sunny day but the moody clouds and rain made the islands look very neat!
We had such a cool experience at each stop, loved the canoe through one of the bays, then walking in a cave and swimming, dinner was sooo good and the highlight was definitely the bio luminescence! The bioluminescence isn’t super bright and colorful but more like shiny glitter in the water but still so unique and pretty! Loved it

Great 8-hour experience in Phuket - It was a rainy day for us, but the trip was still worth it. The coolest part of the trip was not the bioluminescent water at the end, though it is up there, but rather was the cave on Phanak Island which leads to an open area inside the island. If there’s any improvement, it’s that the tour should have included towels as there were a few opportunities for swimming, and that should be communicated more explicitly beforehand for people to prepare.

An amazing experience - My tour guide for this experience was Dream and he was absolutely great. The crew of the speedboat we were on were also great and the captain could really drive that boat especially getting into that cave at night. This experience is a must do. You get to go to caves, go sea kayaking and be a kid with the bioluminescent plankton.

James Bond Island Bioluminescence Tour - Bioluminescence James Bond afternoon tour.
Loved it! Dream was our tour guide and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and safety conscious. He filled us with information about our tour and the Bioluminescent Plankton.
Confidently answered all our questions and spoke excellent English. Our boat driver and crew were awesome. Mohammed was our canoeist, and he also spoke good English and was informative. Our dinner at the village was lovely and we were well looked after. Overall a great time of the day to go on the tour and avoid the crowds.

The best day - WOW. This was a beautiful experience. We were well looked after from start to finish. 8 of us on a private speedboat taken around Phang Nga Bay to Island hop. This included dinner and many sightseeing. We went on a canoe into the caves and around the island we stopped at. Dinner at sunset was amazing and it was great to link in with the locals. We were then lucky to see the bioluminescent plankton. Snacks and water were provided throughout the day. Our guides were awesome.

Excellent tour and service - Staff was very good at keeping everyone engaged and safe. Everything was top notch. Shuttle service, hotel pickup and drop off were perfect. Enjoyed making friends with other travelers. The main event - the bioluminescence - was a bit disappointing, but this has more to do with weather conditions / time of year...not the fault of tour operator. Dinner at floating village was a highlight.

Memorable Experience - A memorable experience. Our tour guide Alex is fantastic. We did a walking tour to enter a lagoon is one of experience. Sea Canoe tour is fabulous. I am little disappointed with Bioluminescent plankton, maybe because we are expecting something like movies, but it's a lot different to it.
