A Renaissance Dream: Discovering Pienza’s Architectural Marvels
Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, Pienza stands as a testament to the visionary ideals of the Renaissance. As you wander through its cobblestone streets, the city reveals itself as a living museum, where every corner tells a story of elegance and humanist ambition. Begin your journey with a guided tour of Pienza, available from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM on both November 2nd and 3rd. This tour offers an intimate exploration of the city’s architectural wonders, crafted under the guidance of Pope Pius II and the renowned architect Bernardo Rossellino.
The highlight of this tour is undoubtedly the Piazza Pio II, a masterpiece of Renaissance perspective illusionism. As you stand in the square, the inverted perspective creates an illusion of space, inviting you to ponder the genius of its design. The tour is not just a walk through history; it’s an invitation to step into a world where art and architecture converge to create a harmonious urban landscape.

Perched on the panoramic terrace of the Podere Montale Winery, you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view of the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you can indulge in three generous glasses of Tuscan wine, each accompanied by a selection of local delicacies, including Maremma cheeses and wild-farmed cured meats.

The atmosphere was very pleasant, welcoming and the music in the background fit perfectly with the outline. The staff was friendly and made us feel comfortable. During the tasting came to visit us even the real hosts: a kitten and three cute dogs! Recommended
