Incredible experience - Our guide, Leonardo gave us an amazing tour of the Duoro Valley! It was just the perfect day from the beginning to the end. During the drive from Porto to the valley, Leonardo had us all share things about ourselves. So by the time we stopped for our first tasting we all felt like friends. The views from the first family winery were incredible and the ports were delicious. Next we did a river cruise and it was so much fun drinking port tonics as we cruised down admiring the beauty of the landscape. Leonardo picked us up and took us to another small family owned winery for more port tasting and lunch. Between each stop, Leonardo shared history about the area, the port wines and the vineyards. You need to take a tour to the Duoro Valley to understand how beautiful it really is and I hope you get to experience it with Leonardo who is passionate about making the experience fun and memorable!

Ruel and all the other... - Ruel and all the other guides were pleasant, entertaining, and made sure to keep us taken care of. They made sure we had plenty of water which is important for a wine tour. The wine was excellent and I learned a lot about Portugal.

Top notch experience from travelers who do not typically do the group tour thing - My spouse and I do not do a ton of organized, guided travel experiences but we are SO glad we chose to do this one. There were only 7 of us plus our guide, Leo, and it was a phenomenal experience from start to finish.
Leo provided so much character, fun, history, and general context about the region and the experience. It did not feel like a mega cookie cutter experience and the first winery we visited only had ~10 staff, so small producers. The lunch was authentic and top notch and had within most beautiful setting imaginable--outdoors in the back of an old family home, under blooming trees with rose petals all around.
The cherry on top was the boat tour. The food, the wine, and the company were all fabulous and we would totally recommend it and even do it again when we return to Portugal. :)

Don't Miss This - This is a fabulous way to spend a day! The Douro valley is spectacular and the wine tastings were fun and educational. The boat ride was very smooth and peaceful and lunch was delicious. (Don't plan on having dinner that day!) Bruno was the perfect host. Can't recommend this highly enough!

It was great all the way... - It was great all the way around! Our guide Joao was kind, funny and knowledgeable. He was also an excellent driver which was important as the amount of time in the car was not insignificant. The wineries and their guides were great. Our host for lunch was welcoming, fun to chat with and learn from. Lunch was extremely tasty with all the Portuguese cuisine you could want! We also met two couples who were awesome and we belly laughed quite a few times. Highly recommend!

Day trip to Douro valley with boat ride - Leo was amazing. Very knowledgeable, passionate and made everyone feel comfortable. Very engaging. Anticipated our needs and was very attentive. Had bottles of water and surprises along the way. Reviewed the agenda and set expectations. Highly recommended this trip.

Beautiful day in the wine valley - Carlos was a wonderful tour guide, very informative and friendly. The whole day was magical from the scenery, to the vineyards and river cruise. Great wine, food and company on this small group tour.

A wonderful excursion- must do if you’re in Porto ! - If you’re visiting Porto, I would highly recommend spending a day enjoying this experience. It’s a type of beautiful you just can’t appreciate from photos. Not only that, but our tour guide Leandro grew up in Douro valley and had rich personal history, stories, and connections to share with us. Do this trip for the views, the tour, the food, the wine, the port and the guide— I was all fabulous. The staff at each stop were so friendly, knowledgable, and inviting. The food was plentiful, authentic, and delicious, as was the port and other Portuguese beverages we sampled. We met some other lovely travellers and it felt like we were all friends on a trip with Leandro, also a friend by the end of this experience. 10/10 would recommend !

A+ Tour - A+ tour! Entertaining and knowledgeable guide who timed the whole day to perfection. We sampled several wines from two gorgeous wineries. We had a deliciously satisfying home cooked lunch. Views of the valley were spectacular, and cruising the river with charcuterie boards, and of course, more wine, was the icing on the cake.

Incredible Wine Tour - From the moment we arrived, this wine tour exceeded every expectation. The scenery alone was worth the trip but the hosts made it way more fun!
Carlos was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also passionate about wine, sharing fascinating insights into the winemaking process, the region’s history, and the unique characteristics of each winery we visited. We loved that he grew up in Douro Valley and had such a personal connection to the area. He made all of us laugh and genuinely took the time to get know/learn about each of us. He really went the extra mile for his guests and we enjoyed every moment of his company and expertise.
Ricardo and Bruno were also lovely for the river boat! Knowledge, friendly and kind!! We had the best time laughing with them, too!
What really stood out was the attention to detail and the kindness our hosts showed us. From the luxury transport to the thoughtfully paced schedule, everything was designed for comfort and enjoyment. This is a must book!!
