Excellent Private Tour of the Douro Valley - We had an amazing private tour of the Douro Valley with Alfredo. There were 4 in our group and every one of us enjoyed the whole day. Alfredo is very nice, very accommodating, and very knowledgeable about the Douro Valley, wine, and Portugal. Alfredo’s van is spotless and very comfortable. Alfredo is a great driver and we felt safe the whole time even though the roads are sometimes narrow and curvy. Our first stop was at a small vineyard where the owner took us on a tour of the vineyard and taught us all about growing grapes and making wine in the Douro Valley. We also had wine and olive oil tastings there and all the wines and olive oil were excellent. We went to a second vineyard for a tasting and a delicious lunch. This was a really beautiful place with nice views and excellent service in the restaurant. After lunch we went on the river cruise. There were other people on the river cruise, which we expected from the description of the tour. Alfredo accompanied us on the boat and explained about the area while we were going down the river. Our last wine tasting was at beautiful vineyard with a hotel on the property that overlooks the Douro Valley, again beautiful views and great wine. Alfredo’s tour exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend this tour! You will be missing out if you pick any another tour company.

Private Wine Tour - My husband and I had an incredible tour of the Douro Valley with Alfredo. He picked us up from our hotel, and we travelled to 4 different spots for wine and port tasting. Alfredo was very knowledgeable and gave us a great history and overview of port and wine within the Douro region. Each stop had amazing views and the wines were outstanding. As we were here on our honeymoon, Alfredo made our day extra special by asking one of the wineries to open up a bottle of their vintage port for us to try. Overall, an exceptional day that we will be talking about for years to come!

Dazzling Delightful Douro Valley - Wonderful day touring wineries: Guedo, Pacheco (fabulous 3 course lunch included), and Quinta de Pego. All amazing in their own way and we loved the wines / port. Alfredo was instrumental in keeping us entertained and on track all day. He is a gem!! His English is perfect - we would love to see him again. 45 min boat ride on The Douro River was a bonus. Long day but so worth it!

Private wine tour - Everything about this day blew my partner and i away. The tour selections from Alfredo were all fantastic, we especially loved the experience with Gueda wines and Luis. The trip had 4 main stops and lasted roughly 11 hours + ~16 tastings. We never felt rushed or tired throughout the experience. The lunch was on a very beautiful upstairs terrace and featured some delicious courses. And most importantly we never felt pressure to purchase wines or any specific brands. There was never any selling or nudging throughout the tour. We purchased around 6 bottles combined regardless, so clearly there was no need! Alfredo offered some incredible amounts of wisdom on the region and always had the answer to any questions or thoughts we had. On top of that he was a very friendly person to spend that significant amount of time with (I’m including in this review at his request that he loves all things benfica and football as we could have talked for hours longer about those subjects apart from wine 😁) Overall just a top top experience for any level of wine enjoyers I would say. Wholeheartedly recommend and will be telling friends. Obrigado Alfredo!

Magical day in the Douro Valley - The way in which Alfredo organized this tour was absolutely magical! (but I don't want to give anything away!) He is such a kind and thoughtful person. We learned so much, every step of the way. This is a day to remember!

Wine Tour to the Douro Valley with Alfredo - This full day tour is absolutely incredible and a must when you are in the Douro Valley. To start off, Alfredo is not only very knowledgeable about wine and the region itself, but also very polite and considerate. Furthermore, we were recommended to do this tour by friends of ours who highly regarded the tour. About the tour itself. Alfredo met us at our hotel and drove us to the first winery. On the way, we stopped at various lookout points and he enhanced our knowledge about the wine region and its history. Our first stop was Gueda Wines. This selection for the first stop was incredible. At this stop, we tasted various wines (white/red, as well as port wines) and had our own individual charcuterie boards to pair with the wine. Following the tasting, we went into the vineyard and our guide talked in great detail about their family history, maintenance of the vines, harvesting, etc. We then headed to Ferradosa, which is a farm to table restaurant. We were amazed by the delicious meal and wine pairing. Not to mention, it had amazing views of the Douro River. During our 10-day trip to Portugal, this was by far our favorite traditional restaurant. Moreover, when the waiter brought each course to the table, he explained in detail what we were eating, where the ingredients are from in the Douro Valley, and how it pairs with the specific wine that we were given. We then headed to Messias Wine Cellar next. This was one of the highlights of the tour. In this 200+ year old cellar, we sampled old port wine directly from the barrel and were given a tour of the cellar. During this stop, we learned in great detail about the history of port wine and how it is made. This is an experience that I will always remember! The last stop of the tour was at Quinta Do Pego. Once again, it was a great selection by Alfredo that included red wine and port wine. Alfredo took the time to explain what wine we were drinking at this stop, what it pairs with, etc. It is evident that after many years of business, Alfredo has carefully selected what wineries and restaurant he brings his guests to. My wife and I were very thankful about that. Furthermore, at each stop, it was private and as a result, we were not mixed in with other wine tours. We are so happy that we decided to do this tour and it was by far the highly of our 10-day trip to Portugal. If you are in the region, then we highly recommend this tour!!!

All 3 tours were... - All 3 tours were outstanding but the first at Casa do Romezal was especially great. What made the tour special though, was our driver and guide, Alfredo. His knowledge, patience and clear excitement about the region was infectious. Thanks!!

Duoro Wine tour and Braga day tour - Alfredo did such an amazing job with this tour for my family. He was so accommodating for my family of 11. He customized and tailored the entire experience to fit our exact needs. He was so incredibly informative, enjoyable and wonderful to be around. I could not recommend using someone more for your time in Porto than Alfredo!
