Laughing Bird Caye National Park - Depart Splash Dive Center at 09:00 am for the 30 to 40 minute boat ride to Laughing Bird Caye National Park. This is the most popular Inner Reef dive destination. Upon arrival expect a briefing from the park ranger and then head into the water with your licensed snorkel guide. If you have not snorkelled before, no problem. Our guides are happy to show you the ins and outs of snorkeling and how to find the good stuff. Critters include spotted drum, huge lobsters, cleaner shrimp, arrow crabs, snapper, barracuda and more varieties of reef fish than you can count. l
Around mid day youâll enjoy a Belize style picnic lunch or a barbecue on the island. Then, you would head back into the water for more underwater exploration. There are lots of areas with healthy corals and abundant aquatic life to check out before heading back to Placencia.

Laughing Bird Caye is a National Park and World Heritage Site. It is a long and narrow island known for its abundance of marine life and corals. Laughing Bird Caye is a National Park and World Heritage Site. It is a long and narrow island known for its abundance of marine life and corals. The name comes from the gulls that are among the many birds that Inhabit the north end of the caye. Laughing Bird Caye offers excellent snorkeling as would be expected at a national park. On the east side of the island coral mounds separated by sandy patches rise to about 5 feet from the surface. These mounds have a variety of coral types which are home to lobsters, barracuda, lizardfish, angel fish, parrot fish, spotted drums, southern rays and a myriad of reef fish. On the west side your guide will find lobster, barracuda, lizardfish, Nassau grouper, angel fish, furry sea cucumbers, conch and lots and lots of colourful juvenile reef fish.

Highly recommend - My husband and I went and I did not plan on snorkeling because I have never snorkeled before. However, they sized me for fins and goggles for just incase. When we got there one of the tour guides said she would go with me at my pace and if I wanted to stop she would bring me back. No questions asked. So I decided to try and I’m so glad I did!!! It was amazing!!! She made me feel so at ease and she pointed out fish and told me all about them. It was the best!!! She really made me feel so comfortable and we saw so many different fish, sting ray, nurse sharks. I’m so happy she convinced me to go. The lunch they made and brought to the island was delicious too!!!

Amazing Snorkeling Experience Despite the Weather! - We had an incredible snorkeling trip with Splash Dive! The weather wasn’t ideal, but the team went above and beyond to make the best of it, ensuring we still had a fantastic time. The highlight for me was seeing a female leading the trip—it was inspiring and refreshing to see such strong leadership on the water. The crew’s professionalism and upbeat attitude made the whole experience unforgettable. Plus, the lunch they provided was absolutely great—delicious and a perfect addition to the day. I would highly recommend Splash Dive to anyone looking for a memorable and well-run snorkeling adventure!

Snorkeling at Silk Caye - We had a great time! We really appreciate Splash Dive accommodating us. We were supposed to go yesterday, but our son was ill and couldn’t come. My husband and I were going to go without him, but Spalsh Dive said we could go the following day so our son could join us. We snorkeled out at Silk Caye. Absolutely beautiful! Our guides were great and pointed out all the wildlife. We even got to swim with the sea turtles! That was the best way to end our day. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

Gave us 2 hours of free... - Gave us 2 hours of free snorkeling with explanation of what we were looking at. Throughout the entire process wildlife fish species and corals.

Impressive reef! - We actually ended up snorkeling at the Silk Caye instead of Laughing Bird Caye. Silk Caye is incredible! We swam with turtles, nurse sharks and rays all at once! The reef is very healthy and the location around the tiny island is fun. Had a great time with Melvin and company!

Good snorkeling! - We went on this tour with young kids who haven’t snorkeled before and unfortunately, ended up going on a fairly windy/rainy day. The waves were somewhat rough, so it was too intense for our younger two (ages 6 and 9) and they quickly got out and went back to land. They did enjoy playing on the island and looking for hermit crabs though. My 11-year-old, husband and I enjoyed the snorkeling - we saw nurse sharks, barracudas, spiny lobster and so so many fish. The lunch was good - rice & beans, stewed chicken, pasta salad and pineapple served buffet style, plus juice. Our guide, Sam, was flexible with the kids and the rain. We departed at 9, boated for 40 minutes, spent several hours on the island and were back to the dock by 2pm. Overall, the older members of our group enjoyed this tour!

Trip canceled - My trip was canceled, which I understand, but the staff weren't straightforward about it. They offered me an upgrade rather than telling me the trip was canceled. I had to ask before they would say my trip didn't make the minimum numbers. Ultimately I opted out of the longer trip, due to back problems.
